I am not justifying anything. Just trying to explain things in simple terms to a religiously prejudiced and closed minded individual. Getting paid to do a job vs being a slave or indentured servant are two different things and apparently you don't understand the difference. We have never had slaves or indentured servants in Dubai as we have had in US history...that was my point. Apparently, it was too complex for you to understand
Keep enjoying that shiny E-145 luxury edition though....btw, how much did you get paid the first year you flew that thing? $17,000 per year? Shiny jet syndrome huh.....sounds like your definition of slavery.
With all the problems we have in the US, it still continues to be one of the best places to live in the world. Even some European nations. This can be confirmed by simply speaking with immigrants. However, one should not judge another nation (UAE) until one has lived there. I'm sure they have their problems as do we, but to refer to expact pilots as slaves is just ignorant. BTW, outragous law-suits and violation of civil liberties happen here as well. Note the part about it being illegal to bad mouth the beef industry. Not in anyway saying that $17,000 per year is a good thing. It's been terrible and continues to be terrible the starting wages in this career. It also sucks that the majority of growth is the flavor of the year start up carrier or the race to the bottom carrier. Which unfortunately I see is part of the global career problem. Take a pilot fresh out of flight school, wants to get job quickest with quickest upgrade time to fly the flashiest jet. Here in the US, said pilot goes get a job at the Scumbag CEO Regional Airlines. Well now almost after immediately joining Scumbag CEO Regional Airlines, pilot wants to get out ASAP because well airport stand by sucks and we are an increasingly ADD society. Even worse, many of those pilots are completed jaded from the benefits of a union because of the bad experience at the Scumbag carrier which is usually composed of mostly other pilots including the ones on the MEC looking to get out ASAP. So along comes Super Growth Large Jet Airlines and no matter how bad their bases might be or poor in relative terms to historical legacy jet pay and work conditions, it seems like an exciting option compared to the poorly run regional carrier. So like the Top Gun pilots we all are, egos get the best of us, and many of us lack objective analysis to see well established, well paid carriers with reasonable union protections get some growth.

Sorry if you've been brain washed and even sorrier if you feel like you must defend out of fear.

You tell me what the plan of action is should a foreigner be arrested on the beach for God forbid kissing another person in that part of the world? Or exactly which union or aviation lawyer is a pilot going to turn to in the case of a fatigued contributed error? ASAP report? How about we hope for some positive growth at quality carriers with quality living bases...

No need to defend anything out of fear. I am sorry you are an ignorant bigot and can't see past your shiny little E145 based in a city that probably has a crime rate in 1 day of what this place has in 1 year.
Plan of action.....Respect the laws where you chose to live. In typical ignorance, as you have displayed in your other posts, you failed to find out the rest of the story about that couple on the beach. The couple was actually under the influence of alcohol, not fully clothed, and fooling around on the beach. Way more than kissing. They were asked by the police to stop, put their clothes back on, and leave. Instead of getting dressed and just leaving, they became belligerent and disrespectful to the officers so they were arrested. Would they have been arrested in the USA for indecent exposure or disorderly conduct. Probably.
You can hope all you want for growth at a "quality carrier" but the customer ultimately makes that decision. Apparently the customer's definition of quality is different from your definition.
Why do you guys so emphatically defend a place that would fire you at the drop of a hat for a honest mistake? I don't get it. It's an OK job, but that's about it. Are saying you want to live out your days in the UAE? Really?

Who said they wanted to live out their days in the UAE and where was that even implied anywhere?
Why would you defend an airline that fires a guy for being sloppy, blatantly disregarding SOP's, may or may not have almost killed people, and then re-hires them under union pressure knowing full well they have no business in the cockpit? Stupid things happen everywhere...firing a guy because of an honest mistake IS stupid and so is the above scenario.
