I work for AirTran. Never underestimate the number of competitors that enjoy watching DAL give away slots for free.

New York translated into German means; "More of your eggs in one basket".

:D

I know you're a tranny, and I voiced my opinion plenty that you were getting fudged by your new brothers and sisters like Sasha. I know other airlines were going to get some slots for free, but initially DL chose who would get them, and SWA wasn't one of them. They may have gotten more via Airtran, but they just asked for even more and was denied. Delta, on the otherhand, got 122 more(?), and paid for it with bag fees, with plenty extra to buy more.

Btw, you don't have to try to act like a corndog on FI if you don't want to. The way they have been treating you, it might be hard to ever associate yourself with that bunch. Girls like Sasha, they aren't worth it.

Godspeed!

You mean current Airtran pay that will stay the same until 2015 because they were supposedly threatened by retired management? Nice! That won't be forgotten, and will always be a bad memory for many. As far as the pay goes, you can look it up online if you want. With current profits running at an all time high thanks to bag fees, it may change for the better soon, and you will still be going to Amarillo. Enjoy that clunky 733 for 5 stops within Texas. My bid is in to get on the 767 and see the World. You, will mostly see Oklahoma and Arkansas. Higher pay just isn't worth that.

Godspeed!

I'd be amazed if DAL has new rates by 2015.

Also, if you're willing to make less money in order to "see the world" aren't you in effect "paying to ride"???

That's some odd logic you've got there.

You hope so, but that's not what we're hearing, and if our pay equalled or was better than SWA's, there would probably be a mass exodus of Corndogs looking for something other than a newly combative culture, and something different than Texas and 737s. Stagnation too will cause junior Corndogs to look around, and with superior retirement numbers along with better pay, many will bail.

Would you call being junior for decades due to lack of SWA retirement better
than seeing the world and having variety in planes and places to go bad logic? Again you can only hope Delta pilots don't match or beat your pay, it could devastate the bottom half of your list. If that happened, maybe SWA would stop requiring people to pay for their training (types) and maybe offer to pay for it themselves like everyone else.

Godspeed!

We are keeping the Marine Terminal. The Slots will be up for bid, not free.
The bidding rules will prevent SWA from buying all of the slots. They will probably get half for $$$s.

Delta Wins Approval to Build LaGuardia Hub as U.S. Backs Flight-Slot Trade

Q

By Mary Jane Credeur and Mary Schlangenstein - Oct 11, 2011 1:43 PM

Delta Airlines won federal regulators’ approval to build a domestic hub at New York’s LaGuardia airport by trading takeoff and landing slots with USAir.

The accord gives Delta 132 more LaGuardia slot pairs and control of about half the flights there, in exchange for swapping 42 of its pairs at Washington's Ronald Reagan National Airport with US Airways, the U.S. Department of Transportation said today in a filing. The carriers must divest 24 pairs to smaller rivals, 16 at LaGuardia and eight at National.
Delta’s advantage at LaGuardia over American Airlines, the second-biggest carrier there, will grow as it takes over most of the US Airways terminal space. Creating a domestic hub at LaGuardia will complement Atlanta-based Delta’s international hub at Kennedy airport.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Excellent! I think this will be good for for Delta and US Airways. Thank goodness my impotent union wasn't able to block it.

My Amarillo trips will still pay 3 to 4 times as much as your 767 trips!!! And while you are seeing the World as a Relief Pilot (stare out the window and DONT touch anything till the Captain finishes his nap) my wife and I will be on a full fare Business Class seat in the back going on another Holiday! Enjoy what you got cause at your age and all the Delta codeshare, you will never see the left seat........unless of course Delta goes on strike...then you will be the first to cross.......

Godspeed!!

Not true Sacha. Delta is forcast to lose 7600 pilots in the next 15 years, and depending on how old OYS is, he may very well see the left seat, sooner if he chooses a particular base. (like NYC) Also, I just saw a jumpseating SWA pilot on my plane from Narita to Portland(he was LAS based) and we gave him a business class seat, he didn't buy one. He had also just jumped up to NRT from Bangkok on a Delta A330. So, he could have bought a business class ticket maybe, but chose to have a free one instead. How nice, and you all are always welcome. That still doesn't mean I want to fly a free jumpseat to Lubbock. You can have it!

You Delta boys (and girls OYS) are living on on a whole lot of "maybe"... and "hopefully"
and "should be" and "most likely" in regards to pay, growth, retirements....

Meanwhile, back in reality, you make less than Airtran pilots. Your schedule is dictated by PBS. Delta management grows the airline via codeshare BOTH domestically and internationally. The EU, because it's broke, is going to start charging you billions for carbon credits as the economy in europe and around the world begins to Implode....

But you have your fantasy world of the future so all is well.......

OYS's Relief Officer dream job was just filled by a 22 year old Vietnamese kid flying for HO CHI MINH Airways. Delta just decided to codeshare some Asian flying with them because they got their 767's cheap and Qui Trang the new F/O, ab initio kid is working for $600 a month......

How is your new contract going? Will DALPA be on the property by then? Tough negotiating a new contract expecting HUGE pay raises to catch up when the worlds economy is on the edge of catastrophe.......

Dreeaam....Dream,Dream,Dream........

Wait.....WTF.....Forgive me since I'm an "R.J. Puke", your telling me it better to fly a BIGGER AIRPLANE for less money than someone else would do since I would be getting something out of it for me? Good to know(T.I.C.)
