was there a spot to upload a resume or only the copy and paste area? I am using safari and not sure if there was a place to upload a resume.

Anyone trying to apply at Alaska should use IE only. Most of our inhouse stuff does not play nice with safari/firefox/anything post 1998. I mean, we had to take our iPad tests on a PC running IE.

Even with IE 9 I can't get through. I was able to submit my email, but when I tried to log in with the password the computer had no record of me in the system.A friend of mine gave me a phone number of someone to call in the hiring department. I hesitated but then decided to call. I left a message and have not heard back.

I REALLY would like to be able to apply but it's been frustrating. Do I need to go back to IE 7 or something?

That might be a possibility. I think we had some problems with the latest IE. I use Firefox and haven't had any of the problems with the AS website, but then again, I luckily don't have to fill out the app.

Best part is the "part-time" designation in the job description.

Alaska considers its pilots part-time employees. That's why we couldn't get Family Medical Leave Act leave. FTE's work 1200 or more hours a year. Alaska just counts flight time, not duty time for that. Something to consider when applying.

I tried every browser possible. Never got the email with the password, even used a few different email addresses. Oh well.

remember-always put-"yes" to nicotine use-you will never work at Alaska-give me a f'ing break. I quit about a year ago and accidentally said yes and now am disqualified for 6 months......insurance companies can blow me

any alaska people out there that can give me a HR contact Email-seems the two that I have are automated and do not go to real people. Thanks-PM me please

Well, it doesn't take long! I already got an email this evening, thanks, but no thanks! It was a long shot, no recs, 2000 CRJ pic, nothing special that seperates me from all of the other dicks out there!

I know a guy who got the same response as well. Likely need to have some good connections to make this first wave.

Keep swinging.

never mind, I got a hold of HR. I am expecting nothing more than a fair chance-we shall see how far 14 years of military (non aviation), BA, and 1500 hours of PIC from a regional can get me. Good luck to everyone out there.
