But then again we do have an excuse. Operating planes built in the mid 80's![]()
Mesa also operates less planes than the other USX operators.
Yea, but a % is a %. They downsized and now have better quality control. My last recurrent class we pulled Wings (US Airways Website) up and of the express carries Completion Factor, Delays, Cx'ed flights Mesa was by far the best performer.
Don't get me wrong, many in the class couldn't believe how bad we (Pdt) AirWilly and PSA were.
All there flying is CLT. And when they flew emb 145's they were awful. They definitely have done better with a smaller fleet.
"Go-around is not an option"
Remember that gem?
Not only do I remember... I had a first hand conversation with the girl Captain! Let's just say she was braggin about only being in aviation for 3 years and already being a e 145 captain with only 1600hrs total. Scary stuff. How did that workout for her? Thank god nobody died that night in roa.
I wonder what happend to her. Think she is still flying?
Probably at mainline![]()

If my memory serves me right, she died of cancer years ago.
What is Air Wisky's excuse?

Suggest you check your facts regarding the Embraer comment. For the last 18 months of the Delta contract Mesa lead in every performance category. Flying out of CVG and DTW.
I don't know why I even bother?

Reading comprehension not your strong point?! He was talking about CLT based emb's specifically. Next time don't bother.
There you go! I think we posted at the same time!! Next time, why should we even bother!![]()
What's the story with the "go around is not an option" thing? My memory is failing me, although I seem to remember something along those lines...Can anyone shed some light?
Long story short... Bout 9 years ago a Mesa E145 crew was flying into ROA on a clear but gusty winter night. The Captain's brief stated that since 33's now 34's runway has rising terrian at the departure end that a "Go around was not gonna be an option". She then stalled the plane upon landing. Impact was so hard the engines were bent, and there was skin damage underneath.
She didn't write up the plane or leave a note for the next mornings crew. Then they showed up, preflighted and since it was early morning I guess didn't notice the damage and flew that plane to CLT. That's it...... Kinda....
