I just got my letter from Gary today. The 2011 SWA Battle Plan was sent to all Southwest Airlines Warriors.

Is it really called a "battle plan"? And are you referred to as "warriors"?

This is a direct quote under the AirTran Integration section:

"Once closed, we will begin the work to integrate AirTran into Southwest, which may take up to 24 months. Integration planning along with both Companies and union groups is well underway. Until AirTran is integrated, all union contracts in place at each Company continue in force."

This should be of particular interest to ATN ALPA as they try to 'hold up' the Process Agreement in an attempt to get the SWAPA contract asap.

I doubt anyone is trying to "hold up" anything. DOCC isn't going to happen for a few more months. A Process Agreement is worthless untill DOCC happens. Relax.

I agree the Process agreement won't hold anything up. AT/ALPA needs to talk to their company about the transition agreement not SWA. Like we have said before our contract is the one that has these provisions in it. SWA will not see any synergies unless we are apart of this agreement. GK knows this so does AT/SWA shareholders. This is not two ALPA carriers merging.

Why shouldn't AT/ALPA talk with SWA?

What provisions are in the SWAPA contract to which you are referring?

Finally, I think it is obvious SWAPA will be the major influence through out the entire process, but SWA,AAI and even lowly AT/ALPA will be a part of this agreement as well.

Ever since this deal was made public I have kept my opinions to myself as far as FI is concerned, however I have to say SWA pilots are not the only ones that have run off the AT guys from FI. The AT guys are doing a good job themselves running SWA pilots off this board.

With that said the AT pilots are GREAT, the SWA pilots are GREAT and while we are at it all pilots are GREAT. So everyone needs to just relax and stop taking FI to personally.

FLB717, I mostly agree with what you are saying as well. Though your attempt at claiming some moral high ground lacks credibility because you completely overlook the 'shouting-down' a few of your own pilots are engaging in. Fact is 99% of BOTH pilot groups are quiet on this subject. The loudmouths from BOTH groups are choosing to make a name (and a target) for themselves. They will eventually get outed on the line, and should be grateful that SWA no longer requires them to carry brain-bags, as they are all jonsing for a nice surprise in theirs someday. :laugh:

Not exactly.

There is no requirement for corporate close to start negotiating the integrated seniority list.

IF ALPA is holding up the process agreement, they are slowing down progress. Good for their dues collection, not so good for their members.
