I just got my letter from Gary today. The 2011 SWA Battle Plan was sent to all Southwest Airlines Warriors.

This is a direct quote under the AirTran Integration section:

"Once closed, we will begin the work to integrate AirTran into Southwest, which may take up to 24 months. Integration planning along with both Companies and union groups is well underway. Until AirTran is integrated, all union contracts in place at each Company continue in force."

This should be of particular interest to ATN ALPA as they try to 'hold up' the Process Agreement in an attempt to get the SWAPA contract asap.

Seniority is forever, and the arbitrators will give AT guys better seniority than SWAPA will. Just wait it out. At least you just got a new contract, which is an improvement over the last one.

Didn't take long for johnsonrod to take the bait. Hmm...must be contract envy rising to the top again. Lonestar was a bit over the top rubbing it in the AAI pilots' faces--but at least he let shortpole expose himself again.

We were going to have wifi in all of the planes by the end of 2009. Now it looks like 2015. I wouldn't hold my breath for 24 months. We never do anything on schedule.

I don't know if I would bet on that. Look.....I don't have a dog in this fight, but I had much rather make every attempt to come to a fair deal without going to an individual that's sole purpose is to be like your Mom when you and your brother are fighting over a GI Joe in the backseat of the car - both of you are likely to do without the toy and be penalized because of your fighting. Both groups could be penalized for the behavior of your negotiators. Working together and avoiding arbitration may, in fact, be better for both parties in the end. Negotiated settlements seem to leave less bad blood than arbitrated ones.

One man's opinion.......carry on with the insults and measuring of urinaries.

JR quck question? Why all the hate? I notice you are a truly a positive person on the fractional threads. Why come here and continue to act the way you do? Do you want a Fractional job?

So, You will sell your wife, your children, your country for a few extra bucks.

I'm glad you're not with me in a real fight.

Some things, including Seniority, are just not for sale!

again, lots of hate coming from one side of the table.

This is what Gary Kelly said on 9/27, integration up to 24 months. He did say on the 4th quarter conf. call that his number one priority was integrating Airtran ............I'm not too worried. We don't control SLI and I think it will work out good for both pilot groups. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to work with the SW guys. If we remove the extremists of both airlines, the middle is probably the outcome. I want this merger to make Southwest a leaner meaner machine. I know guys, eventually I and my fellow Airtran guys will see a very large pay raise, but I have many years ahead. I think, in the long term, this acquisition/merger will be a benefit to all. Unfortunately, in Wall Street's world, too big to fail is a reality. With DAL/NWA, UAL/CAL, and future consolidations this is an unfortunate necessity. I agree, if I was a SWA pilot, I would prefer organic growth. Unfortunately most of us have many years to go. The airline industry is extremely fluid. The "best" airline to work for could be the worst in 10 years. Once the dust all settles on the SLI bs, we need to make sure SW remains the best. Once again, Im very happy to have the opportunity to work with you guys in the future.

What hate? What table? Flightinfo is NOT the place where any decisions on the integration will take place. Everything here is a biased lopsided OPINION. This is NOT the place for emotional career validation... I'm sorry.

As this thread is no exception..... every single SWA-AAI thread on Flightinfo usually boils down to a bunch of angry SWA Pilots shouting down(or in this case typing down) any Pilot (AirTran or otherwise) that even remotely offers their thoughts on ANYTHING SWA-AAI. We are basicaly forbidden to express our own opinion on anything without suddenly there being a threat of "Ty Webb bag tags" and "hate" and "mistakes" and "Lists" etc etc etc.

Take this thread for example: A SWA Pilot posts a ominous fear mongering "warning" headline thread, along with an SWA Official "Battleplan" verbage.... followed by the continued "opinions" from 99% SWA Pilots, and there are 2 posts of dissenting opinions, and that somehow constitutes "HATE" from the other side of the table?

The SWA Pilots pretend that they want AirTran Pilots to engage... but those same SWA Pilots on Flightinfo have effectively run off 99% of the rational mature AirTran Pilot that even would like to add anything to the discussion. You've all have certainly run me off....

It is clear that the many SWA Pilots on Flightinfo have indicated that they don't want SWA to buy AirTran... well thats NOT our fault. Its also called HUMAN NATURE. So with that said.... what else is there to discuss? Enjoy your lopsided one sided arguments ganging up on whoever attempts to engage you.

In the meantime... to make yourself feel better about the "MEAN HATE UNAPPREACIATIVE" AirTran Pilots that have stupidly engaged... go look at your Industry Leading Contract, your Industry Leading W-2, AND your Industry Leading Company Financials. Then go talk to your Merger Reps, and try to SMILE and act like you BELIEVE what you are saying here, rather than acting like you don't by shouting everyone else's opinion down.

SWA Pilots are GREAT. Just calm down and Relax....

If that doesn't put a smile on your face... then I can't help you.

See ya online...

Ever since this deal was made public I have kept my opinions to myself as far as FI is concerned, however I have to say SWA pilots are not the only ones that have run off the AT guys from FI. The AT guys are doing a good job themselves running SWA pilots off this board.

With that said the AT pilots are GREAT, the SWA pilots are GREAT and while we are at it all pilots are GREAT. So everyone needs to just relax and stop taking FI to personally.
