Reading thru the articles reader comments gave me a chuckle and shows the level of naiveté of the flying public. If they had any idea of how many airline pilots are in the HIMS program in this country you couldn't pay a pax to board an airplane.

It's not the ones in HIMS they should be worried about. It's the ones that should be in HIMS and aren't.

8-12% of any population group suffers from alcoholism or addiction. Take any seniority list and figure 10% and you'll be close to knowing how many people at that company have a problem. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of that are in HIMS.
