96 new hires in January announced (although the last few furloughed guys left over might be mixed in there too).

Expect to be based in ORD if you're interested.

Ummmmmm......You mean Atlantic Southeast Airlines? Pretty sure since we closed the deal all new hiring will be done in Atlanta.

XJT MEC e-mail

We learned today that ExpressJet plans to hire 96 pilots beginning in January 2011. This is more welcome news in addition to the recent return of our pilots from furlough. We believe it indicates a continuing positive trend for our Company and for the future careers of our pilots. More information about this hiring and the expectations for staffing will be provided once it becomes available. .

The Official company info:
"XJT intends to hire 96 pilots beginning with a class on Jan 3 and then two more classes in January. Two additional classes will be held in March.
All pilot hiring for XJT and ASA will be done through the ASA pilot recruitment office. ASA has experienced pilots who are responsible for the hiring process at both airlines.
Currently, there are 45 pilots who are in the hiring pool who will be offered positions with XJT and we will begin the recruitment process shortly to fill out the remainder of our requirements.
All applicants must apply via Airlineapps or through the Flyasa.com website."

Good luck to all those trying to move on from instructing or whatever.

Or do I mean.....................................................................IRREGARDLESS!!!

So I guess if one has already been shot down by ASA, no need to apply?

I just talked to my buddy going through recall training right now..... His instrutor told him ASA is doing all the "hiring", but you'll be going through XJT's training at our training center in IAH for the EMB. Who knows.

Always glad to hear of hiring, goodluck to all those who apply.

My buddy in the ASA pool just got called and offered a Jan 3 ERJ class.

Brad's update today makes it sound like they think they've hired enough at ASA...somehow the red arrows on my SkedPlus didn't get the memo.

So still no relief after the new hires? Do you know how many people were picked up and how many it would take to alleviate the red arrows?

72 newhires after the furlough recalls.

I was in a class of 9 for CR7 differences in October. That was 9 CR7 FOs that got added.

It's not NEARLY enough...for the last 3 days there's been 0 reserves for CR7 FO. 3 guys in the bucket with 0 days of availaibility. Every day in December is a red arrow day.

How many pilots would it take? I dunno...at least 30.

Remember that a lot of the new hires are still making their way through training.

FOs will still be short for a while. Until upgrades are done, FO numbers really don't increase much.

What are these red arrow days? Days you cannot trip trade? Days you get premium pay for pick ups? Days you can expect to be involuntarily reassigned? All of the above?

I wonder how junior Orlando would go? When will this base open? March/April? What ever happened to a MEM base?

This should mean upgrades on the XJT side.

All of the new hires will be able to pick between Orlando, Atlanta, Houston, or the new Denver base.
Just expect Orlando to go very senior, as Houston is shrinking and Denver will only get about 24-36 slots.

I have no memos that talk about Orlando or Denver.

I don't know if XJT gets the same OurASA memos as ASA does but I know that XJT (side of the house etc etc) is analyzing the need for a Denver base since we will get stuck with a lot of Skywest Denver flying now that Skywest is meant to be doing IAH flying. At least we have pretty good moving benefits in our contract, I don't know if Skywest can say the same .... oh wait.

As regards Orlando, I have no idea what that's about.
