I'm no Cessna fan but that is a bitchin' looking cockpit. The only thing I see missing is the Batman symbol on the glare shield.

Any chance any of those extra 15's are for extra leg room for the folks up front?

Where does the money sit? And the money needs more legroom, doesn't it? Because the money eats and drinks too much, doesn't it? You are not the money. Go on a diet. (written just before I go down to the treadmill.)

looks like a lot of money for marginal perf increase. nice cockpit though, looks like it's operated by a verizon droid....

A diet? How would a diet affect my leg length? Confused...

6'3", 190 lbs, and still fit into my Class A's for ref.

Because you are not the money, you must now have a leg shortening operation. Because this surgery is optional, it will not be covered by whatever pathetic insurance policy you are stuck with (probably the same as mine) so you will need to get some money. You will need a second job. But the economy is tight, so that will be difficult. Perhaps you could be a butler for.... the money.

Second job! Ha! I'd be glad for a first job.:(

I'm sorry. That sucks. It's funny how we try to make jokes around here, but the pain is always near the surface. I wish you the best, and may the hiring begin soon. Maybe you'll be sitting in the left seat of one of those new tens before too long.

No worries. Maybe we need a Maury show for furloughed pilots. You know, to start the "healing" process. Management v. Pilots with the unions in a sound proof booth behind stage for the mid-segment ambush.

Wow - that is a great video. When is this new X due to start flying?

Any idea if Netjets or XOJet would be potential customers? How old are the Netjets Xs anyway? Won't some of the older birds need to be replaced in the near future?

65 out of 70 they have are 2005 or older models.

Man, some of you guys are haters.

"The Ultras are old"... so NJNA announces aggressive plans to retire/replace them with up to 125 Phenom 350s mostly being place here in the US.

Other fleets are next within several years grasp.

Patience young haters, patience.

OEMs can only crank so fast... fleets will materialize and make sense over time. The Ten would be a great replacement for the X... assuming nothing better exists when the time comes to focus energy and capital on a Mid Cabin replacement.

In the meantime NJNA is making changes to a huge operation that will enable things to run at NetJets like never prior. One large fleet change, like the Ultra alone is a large change affecting more pilots than most other operators even have.

Gret, how is your operation positioning itself lately?

I'd expect NetJets to place a larger order for Phenom 450/500s before they place an order for "The Ten".

Hmmmm,,, the Maury Show. If we went on for the "healing" process, you know they are going to want a paternity test. Not sure we want to go down THAT road!!!

Hung

Isn't NJ getting rid of some of their older X's and buying some new ones? Heard that FLOPS is buying them... Guess thats where they are getting their "new" X's from?!? Anyone heard that?

The new Ten does look like a sweet bird either way! :)

Trying to find the article (AIN perhaps??) but there was a very interesting discussion recently as to why Citation should be looking to up-date or upgrade other fleets (medium size??) before going down the Ten route.......

Upgrading "The Ten" is a relatively low-cost endeavor for Cessna; its basically the Sovereign fuselage (which was a little longer than X) with new engines (probably derated versions of the new 3007A2 for the Legacy 650) and Winglet Partners sails, a redesigned interior and a new avionics package...and an allegedly higher MMo. No additional fuel or baggage capacity, no bigger fuselage cross-section, no redesigned wing, nada. It also will provide them a "test bed" for putting G5000 in Sovereign (ending the Honeywell EPIC nightmare for Cessna) and possibly down into smaller models.

That's a LOT less R&D expense than would be necessary for a clean-sheet replacement for Excel, or even putting a Sovereign wing on that fuselage.

Besides, I don't think anybody really thinks they outright killed Fatation (aka Columbus) as their top-of-the-line aircraft...its probably waiting for next year's NBAA, hopefully after the industry furthers its turnaround, and hopefully tweaked even more to compete better in that crowded segment.

Cessna has made their mark in the industry over the last 20 years or so with this successful philosophy. The Bravo, The Encore, The Excel and the Sovereign: These are the Mr. Potato Heads of airplanes - which isn't a bad thing. Not only has Cessna invested their R&D dollars wisely, they have created niche markets and then are able to quickly fill them. Definitely not the same Cessna Aircraft Co. I worked for 30+ years ago.
