What's the latest at Talon Air out of FRG? Have they continued to furlough pilots or has that stabilized? How many airplanes have they grounded or sold? Do you think they will hire any time soon (as soon as economy starts to pick up)?

Lastly, it looks like they have received the Hawker 4000. Any word on how that is going? Do the pilots like it and is it popular among customers?

PMs are welcome.

I went there looking for a job a few weeks ago and they still have pilots on furlough though they are slowly recalling. I did see a job post for an office position with them, but can't remember what board it was on.

What's the latest with Talon Air?

What's the latest at Talon Air at FRG?

If you look at their website it looks like they have a lot of airplanes (either owned or under management). Several Hawker 4000s (maybe 4-5 H4000s), a CL300, a Legacy (perhaps Bernie Madoff's old bird), several GIVSPs, a few CL604s, several Hawker 800/900s and a few Beechjets. Not a small operation.

So, a few questions. How many pilots do they have? Are they trained on multiple aircraft types? Are they all based out of FRG? Reasonably well paid for the area (expensive) and aircraft types? Do you have to be typed to be hired?

I had also read that they furloughed a few pilots a year or two ago - have they returned or are they still out on the street?

Any updates appreciated - and PMs welcome!

I knew a few buddies that are there now. They are based at FRG. Apparently they don't start pay all that well. About 5-10K above regionals. If renting in the area its not bad. Typed in only one A/C. As far as the company, they have just built a new hangar doubling the size of their head quarters in addition, tripled the size of their parking lot. Word is that they are growing at a good rate. Adam Katz, the owner has a few rumors floating around about how he treats employees although I believe its just that and people let rumors fly a long way lately. It seems he is doing the right thing IMO. Hope that helped.

I know a guy there, sadly, it's not just rumors, it's a fact.

Let the buyer beware....

I'll second that request for updated information... Any recent hiring? If so, which fleet? Are type ratings a requirement? Two other questions:

1. Typical starting FO salary for jets
2. Likely number of days off per month for newhires - any guaranteed days off

PMs welcome.

Not sure of pay or QOL, can ask a friend that just recently got hired there and find out some info.
