For some unknown reason I was off of FI and was flipping through the channels on my new FLAT SCREEN TV and I happened upon WGN (in Chicago) and I saw the latest SWA TV commercial. A couple of rampers are trying to pull over a plane, saying they are charging too much for bags, up to $120 per trip. Well, that may be lost revenue for the airline, but they are trying to pull over a Volaris A319. Wait, they are trying to pull over the airline that SWA wanted to fly for them to Mexico? Shouldn't those two Bo and Luke Dumbazz Captains (in the previous commercial) be the ones trying to chase that A319 out of town? They should be saying "Hey, we want to fly NONSTOP to Mexico (that was the jist of their own commercial), so get out of here! Git, Git!"

Kinda funny commercials, but not really. WORK ON IT. Do Cheap Fares equal CHEAP commercials? Who are directing these? Kids?

PS---Enjoy AMA, LBB, MAF, ISP, and now EWR!!!! (HAHAHAHAHHAHA)

17% increase in RASM last quarter with historical high load factor.

Probably just a coincidence.

Gup

I have a feeling MANY airlines will be reporting the same or better. Just think, if you guys did charge for bags, how much MORE money you could have made. You used to never charge for anything, but you did start a "priority" seating charge, and with your increasing longevity for your employee group, I wouldn't put it past your management to add some more fees to pay for it.

Regardless, good for you guys, and use some of that money to make new commercials. And, you didn't say anything about the Volaris A319. How are your planned Mexico routes coming? You would think with Mexicana down you would try something maybe? Maybe not. You have to get your management to trust you first.

I've drawn one conclusion from all those Southwest ads that have pilots in them:

only dorks volunteer to be in commercials.

I know there are many other factors involved, but when aircraft are flying full and the average fare is the average fare-- the airlines charging for bags must absolutely laugh at the ones that don't all the way to the bank!!!

Last time I checked , we are still making more money per seat filled without charging for bags than anyone else, so what u say makes 0 sense, clarify if I am wrong....please do
