I am guessing, by reading the posts here, that the passenger should already know that they are flying out of the commuter terminal and that Delta does not have to answer the question, or at least correctly.

Wait a second, why are we blaming the customer when it was Delta people who could not provide the correct information? They called before they left for the airport so they could plan ahead, isn't that what we're always telling them to do?
This.

Delta has done a less-than-stellar job of making it clear (to pax and res. agents alike) that the LAX flight departs from the commuter terminal. If you're not familiar with the setup at SAN, I can understand how it may not be intuitive.

When you check flight/gate status on Delta.com, it says the flight departs from "Gate C3"; no mention of the words "Commuter Terminal". This is all the information the reservations agents have in front of them. If they aren't familiar with the commuter terminal, it's safe to assume that they will pull their airport notes for the Delta SAN station...and, unless that information is updated after this issue, they'll see that Delta flights depart from a normally numbered gate.

Obviously, the lack of station information updates falls on Mother Delta.

Why not go inside and check the gate on the departure board? Apparently that is too hard...

Because if you do that in San Diego there is about a mile between the "commuter terminal" and Mother Deltas gates.

Take your flying back boys and "Keep Delta Your Delta."

Gup

That's what you get when you give your flying away with your brand on it.

I'm just sayin'

Gup

You gotta it GUP. You are ONLY as good as your sub-contractors. Ask any builder! You farm out your work, you better stand behind it. No one should expect different just because this is the "airlines".

So, when does the Westjet and Volaris flying start?

Funny you should ask. The WestJet deal is unraveling as we speak! Hopefully Volaris is next.

Gup

p.s. BTW. I'd put our scope and codeshare language up against ANY airline out there. Not any major airline - ANY airline.

You guys already signed off on it, Gary Kelly will have the last word.
