The top blurb came across my airline RSS feed and caught my eye. What's it about? Tried to google but pay site...Anyone have "the fly on the wall" access?

Need cash for what they want to do. Got to do some interesting stuff to pay off seven billion in debt and grow at the same time.

hopefully that "stuff" doesn't include more RJs and concessions from your pilots. Hopefully you have people following these things closely that rabidly have your pilots' interests (not management or just the senior ones) at the forefront. (...and NOT wait until more things are a DONE DEAL before doing so)

another rumor is Richard Anderson will leave DAL for ING corporation some time sooner than later!!!!! thats what we heard on the last trip

That's okay...isn't the DL Union Pres. best buds with Ed (high pilot salary keeps me awake at night) BASTIAN anyway? I'm sure together they want only the best for your pilots. (Oh yeah, and Ford & Harrison's addition to the HR sr mgt team, Mike Campbell too) :erm:

Every one of your pilots should take their pitchforks to their LECs and end the APATHY before it ends your careers (and what's left of your salary for the senior guys that make it through with a job). Complaining abt Moak on message boards doesn't stop him from acting negatively on your behalf. ACTION and involvement of EVERYONE (not thinking someone else will do it for me) will be what it takes for restoration for you (and domino to the rest of the industry)

What DISTRACTION will they come up with next for you guys to take your eyes off what is important??? B*tching about FAs, uniforms, politics, religion and everything BUT SAVING THIS PROFESSION is EXACTLY what they want you to be focusing on...from the looks of the boards it is working.

Jeesh ACL and message board jockeys like him LIVE on these boards like it's a full time job...how much of that effort is spent creating ACTUAL change in a REAL MANNER for you? None. ALL of you need to get it together OLD SCHOOL and learn how to deal with these conniving vipers. They don't make millions by being nice to pilots.

On another note...while looking up airlines to/fr various midwest locations, noticing Lots of "ALASKA AIRLINES" flights (that are really code shares with Delta). Not talking about to or from Alaska hubs either.
That code share crap will be the death of a lot of jobs

AS is a very robust code share and yes, they have taken a few routes.

Trust me many of us work for change. This does not take up that much time.

As for what we are going to do with scope and our PWA in general in 2012....
To put it mildly people are already worked up about a lot of it. The MEC will be electing our new Negotiation Committee in a few weeks.
The new reps in ATL, DTW, and SLC agree with the ones in NYC and LAX, MEM, and CVG that scope is not a for sale item.
The minds working within the Association are different than before. We may not recapture the 76 seat flying, but given all of these Reps way of thinking I cannot see them falling for a pay hike for that flying.

Oh yeah, btw, I do more than just post here.

I have been calling for a shakeup for some time. The changes are going to be interesting.

Everyone on every message board "calls for a shakeup". I am saying that the 14 or so + hrs a DAY everyDAY that you spend on here (and I'm not just picking on you, many are like that, though not as prolific) could be spend on activities which DIRECTLY impact ACTUAL change...not just getting people riled up...but actual activities which FORCE the union's hand to actually REPRESENT.

PDA's are a wonderful thing! :D

I beleive that many of the ones on here that complain are also the ones that constantly pepper their reps. There are only so many union positions.

I know I am involved on some level. More than I can say for many.

As for 14 hrs a day on this board, nah, another two yes.

...don't tell me...the pilots will just "become a fan" of negotiators or sign a petition on Facebook. No one (The collective, not focusing on anyone in particular) actually wants to work for anything anymore..old school is the ONLY way to affect change and take EFFORT, not keystrokes

Whoa! Voice of Reason sounds to me like Voice of Fanatic! Trust me brother - don't work in today's world of reality! Give it a rest and disappear!!

Give it a rest and disappear!!

This from FFWorld, one of the the wannabe Frequent Flyers (trolling because jealous of pilots) that litter this board
Love all those "ratings" earned sitting on your @$$

case in point:
There is not a day that goes by that I don't hear some of my UA friends complaining and bitching about how bad things are at UA internally - morale awful, hatred and distrust of mgt. (forever I think no matter who is at the helm) etc etc. This is everyone - CSR's , FA's, Pilots, Rampers, Mechanics. UA has a history of this type of negativity. For years it has reflected on their customers(me for one) and anyone who thinks that merging this work force with another one (who cares who it is) is a good idea and will make the world a better place - - needs to wake up. Just look at the US - HP merger a few years ago. They are STILL battling each other and have seen very little if any so called synergies since their joining. You must take care of your own people before you can be successful at tackling a whole new group of labor intensive folks. No matter how you look at this - airlines are a service focused, customer oriented industry. If you can't be happy with yourselves how the hell are you going to be able to take care of who you serve??

Who said those were my ratings? Why do you care? Bottom line is you are one angry angry person who apparently is very jealous of Delta Air Lines and it's pilots and all employees! What exactly is your intention? It is not working for me!

Hi Pot, have you met Kettle? Allow me to introduce you.

Folks like ACL65 have had a political influence. You can see this effect in the C44 campaign where things he wrote turned up verbatim in Reps campaign publications. The band of merry gentlemen you mention have been involved in the passage of at least 3 resolutions and have run for office.

The recently elected Reps all made scope a priority and at least two of them genuinely get it. The first Council meeting with them in charge included a very comprehensive scope presentation based on independent research done by our new FO Rep.

ALPA's a big boat with not a whole lot of rudder. Someone took the keel and sold it to embellish the Captain's cabin. The navigators are doing their job. They can suggest the course that leads away from the rocks, but the ship's momentum, the Captain, weather and currents all contribute to the thing not going exactly the right direction. If you've got any better suggestions on diplomatically suggesting to the Admiral that he stop selling his fleet, let us know.

Until then we just have to hope we aren't a crewman on the ship that gets sold.
