Looks we'll have some SLC overnights on the -700 and the -200 starting in April. The -200 will even hit the Pacific (check SLC-SJC on 4/15 for example).

All of these are subject to change if we don't pass PBS.



































Just kidding about that last part.
 
Didn't you guys hear? Skywest management said they will "probably" award ASA an LAX and DEN base if we pass PBS. They also said they "may consider" buying A320s which could "potentially" go to ASA if we pass PBS.
 
I have absolute confidence that this is merely a carrot for PBS. As nice as these trips are, they are a logistical nightmare when all your resources are in ATL.

But, if this is for real, kudos to all. I would love to trade some ATL flying with Skywest out west. I'm sure it would be even as well. I know there are a few of those guys that would like a So Florida beach overnight as much as we would enjoy the mountains.
 
Sounds like the illogical planning of Delta. No, it doesn't make sense to have ASA go to the west coast if all their resources are in ATL, and it doesn't make sense for Skywest to keep flying 200s/700s into ATL. If you want the proof go to Deltanet and look at the schedule bulletins. It might take you a minute to find it, but it's in there.
 
If they spread everyone out, then everyone is in position to cover when Freedom is finally gone and, technically, no one can refuse routes as "flying struck work" if one of the DCI carriers strike. They will, in essence, be routes your company is already flying. Move a little ASQ to SLC & DTW, move some SKW to MSP, move a few MES to JFK & ATL... and they're covered. Right or wrong, it's pretty genius.

Are these round trips or just one way? Maybe we are just flying them out to SLC for SkyWest to take them over. ASA crews deadhead back to ATL.
