Ignorance Is Cureable; Stupidity Is Not

Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.

-- Excerpt from the notebooks of Lazarus Long, from Robert Heinlein's 'Time Enough for Love'

Flying can be done by anyone, with a modicum of sense. It is easy.

NW Pilot doesn't "make it look easy." He glorifies stupidity, and celebrates ignorance.

Big difference.

I know the risks involved I do this to support my family mainly to provide my 13 year old son with a good life.

Sadly, the real reason folks take risks is often due to ignorance of what the true dangers really are.

He knows the risks.

I know the risks involved

He knows the risks. He's simply stupid. Big difference...

The risks aren't really so much the issue as the character itself. Fruitcake would be a kind understatement. The confused product of a meth environment who brags about sharing women with his lesbian wife, who says he thinks he's from the planet earth but isn't really sure, who hates sunlight and is paranoid enough to believe he's been assaulted by the government, and is on watch lists, who collects "fake checks," and who posts without discretion, stupidly regarding topics ranging from homemade "chemical bombs" to flying cherokees in ice, he's a little beyond the issue of simply taking risks. He is a risk...apparently not only to the world at large and his own family, but to national security, and common sense in general.

One need only look back on the stupid and dangerous things one did as a teenager and wonder what the heck they were thinking.

Unfortunately, we have no need to wonder what NW Pilot is thinking, as he is disturbingly anxious to tell us. It's usually somewhat like watching a car wreck in slow motion, specifically a run-out junker being operated by a student driver who has no idea where he is, or where it is he might be going. Even more is the pity, what escapes NW Pilot is painfully obvious to the rest of us, as is his ultimate destination.

To you it is like watching a car wreck in slow motion. To the uninformed it is a huge surprise when people like this crash in an airplane. That's what I meant when I said he makes it look easy until he's gone.

Professional pilots are all lumped together part 91 121 and 135 even though it is so obvious to us that this guy is a joker to the average person even the average aircraft owner these guys seem very competent.

And that tag line, "U.S.A. = Underprivileged Slaves of America." What does that mean?

As a former airline pilot applicant interviewer, I'd say it means this person brings their politics to work along with an entitlement attitude. Not judgin', just sayin'.
