they are preaching 'professionalism' because it means that no matter how bad your working conditions get (pay,QoL) you will continue to do your job at a level that the public will not notice a decline in service. Its kinda like puting lipstick on a pig, or giving an old whore a bath. If the public doesn't get upset about sloppy crews who sleep in their rusty cars and live on tuna fish, then politicians (babbit included) get paid to do nothing. So enjoy your 'professional' crews america, be proud that we can stall airplanes with our shirts well pressed and our hats on.

Hey did you write 411 up for that peeling boot patch on the right stab?

Wait until they get to the "Airlines", and get their first paycheck. After 1-2 hours of teeth gnashing and wailing about how are they gonna pay back the 100K in student loans they took out. Its priceless, I flew with an F/O that had more than 100K in student loans, I asked him how can you afford to pay on the loans, his answer, "I don't".
PBR

I deferred mine the entire time I was a student, instructor and FO. wound up acrruing 25k in additional debt!!!

Why is Artie Lange such a fat tub of goo?

His old man fell off a cheap ladder and died so Artie got depressed and ate a lot of cupcakes. Now that the Yankees have claimed the Casey Stengell Trophy from the Philidelphia's I predict a more healthy and bountiful rendition of Artie circa 2002.

Initially borrowed 65K... interest, deferrals, plus minimum payments since 1995 = $104K owed as of my last statement. On the bright side, my interest is only 2.4%. Guess it's gonna be a while before I get that Vette!

I owe zero. I guess there is still something to say about working as you gain your ratings. Gulible students need to stop going to those stupid 141 overpriced schools. Part 61 is the way to go. Much cheaper and the pilot certificates look the same. When will people wise up and stop spending 3 times what is should cost for the same training. Unbelievable. It still amazes me how much kids will pay with interest to sit right seat in a crj.

Hey, Mr. Know it all... I worked all the time that I was at Embry-Riddle. My parents didn't have the money to pay my way through school, so I took out loans for the classes and worked to pay my rent and to eat. Don't ever question my work ethic. My post was simply to let others know that a career in aviation can be had, regardless of and financial hurdles that may need to be crossed.
