Soul patches are unsightly?
OK...now you go too far
OK. I tried to get my camera out in time but I did not make it. Sorry, no photo available.
About a week ago, I saw the second, maybe first, worst looking airline pilot I have ever seem.
Here's the description:
So. I usually don't concern myself with what other dudes look like. I really don't care. This dude was just so extreme that I found it to be really funny.
- Mesa First Office with 3 stripes, not a downgraded CA.
- Overweight with a huge belly.
- Shirt was a mess and more than 50% sticking out from his waist.
- Had a soul patch (the little tuft a facial hair that can look like a "V" just below the lower lip. Kind of "riverboat gambler" looking.
- Had White plastic framed sunglasses worn on the top of the head.
- Seen smoking a cigarette outside the terminal building.
I know that every airline has at least one pilot that is a total embarrassment to the rest of the group. I just curious if anyone else has spotted this specimen?
I guess he can't really help the weight problem. He could get pants and shirts that fit better though. Just curious, is the "soul patch" allowed while working at Mesa or was this guy just getting away with it?
I remember a few years ago, when Comair was hiring, I saw an FO who seemed like a brand new hire. He was wearing black pants which were obviously at least 4 inches too long. Instead of ironing a crease, turning the cuffs inside and pinning them until he could get them altered, he just folded them up on the outside. I just assumed he hadn't had time to get them altered. Then, I saw him about a month later and he was wearing the same pants the same pants folded in the same way. I couldn't believe that nobody said anything to him.
My GF calls mine the A$s tickler....
I know. You are totally right about that. I tried to get the photo. I don't blame you for saying that.Until I start seeing some pictures with these threads I just consider them all to be bogus.
Damn. I could be my own pro standards committee. As if. Dude. That would make me worse than the ass clown in question. At least he wasn't bothering anyone elseHow about going up to the guy and talking to him about it. We all have a vested interest in airline pilots looking like professionals.
If someone isn't properly representing our profession then we owe it to ourselves, to eachother, to those who came before us and those the will come after us to get up and over there and do something about it.
Scott
Now that's some funny shlt right there. My GF calls mine the A$s tickler....
I don't think a Skycap could get away with looking like that.Maybe the guy was a Skycap.
