From my experience with them, reporters are generally pretty stupid people with the attention span of a 2 year old. They have no interest understanding anything, just printing the sensational stuff. And aviation reporting is even 10 times worse than regular reporting.

Love this one.... "as the pilot descended, he lost control of the plane" ....but here's the kicker.... he "landed in the southbound lane facing oncoming traffic." Nice. I'm diggin' the quality reporting on this one....NOT. That pic looks pretty well controlled to me. "lost control" sells I guess. Rant over.

Article:
The plane's engine quit, and as the pilot descended, he lost control of the plane and landed in the southbound lane facing oncoming traffic. The plane struck two vehicles while landing, then spun and hit another one with its tail, Richards said.

It would appear he may have landed into oncoming traffic, and spun 180 degrees which caused his tail to land on the hood of the car which was earlier facing him.

They just know how to sit there and look pretty-just read that little screen with all the fancy words on it. Just like our esteemed President. (Not a bad plan....Until the teleprompter craps out.)
