We received our Frotier/Republic TA yesterday. Based on what I've read in both the TA and other sources, the Midwest 319 will still be F9 (flown by our pilots) but will serve some Midwest Markets...flights to the West Coast, Florida, etc... However, we'll see when we get more clarification. Our TA has a number of protections for our jobs, domicile, flying all the airbus equipment, etc.

So, RAH guys, explain how that is all going to work if all pilots have to be on one list? How is Frontier going to operate on a separate contract? This just gets better and better.

so now FAPA is happily stealing Midwest jobs? one big, happy family.

Will you help us or should we silently fade away?

YX pilots blaming management will have no effect on our situation. Management is making a concerted effort to eradicate every one of us.

Republic Pilots: I've read many posts that state "we're just doing our job," "it's not our fault, we feel bad for the YX guys but there is nothing we can do about it." A comparison that I would draw would be the many war atrocities which have occurred throughout history where the offending parties who committed horrible crimes stated, "it's not our fault, we were following orders." Granted, what's being done to the YX pilots is not nearly as egregious as my example, however, to us this is a life altering experience. I'm also reading posts regarding Republic contract negotiations which state "we have to get our pay up to industry standards for the good of the profession". You came into MKE, under cut our rates until all the YX Pilots are gone AND NOW YOU WANT A PAY RAISE? WHAT ABOUT US! I don't mean to be inflammatory but actions speak louder than words.

F9 Pilots: You were recently on the bubble concerned about your future. You now have a new lease on life. F9 will be flying YX flights under some bogus code share agreement, further ensuring the end of our careers.

We need a grass roots effort from both Republic and Frontier line pilots. WILL YOU HELP?

Can't speak for F9 pilots, but the RP pilot group has a pretty poor track record. The company didn't get where it is buying up former nationals by having a strong pilot group.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but wow....

Rank and file German and Japanese soldiers who murdered Jews & POW's under the guise of following orders were war criminals who knowingly or not violated international conventions, not to mention common morals (ie: you shouldn't kill someone who does not present a threat to you)

Rank and file RAH pilots (and dispatchers, mechanics etc for that matter) are not violating any laws or doing anything immoral. They simply show up for work same as they did a year ago before this whole mess started.

Rank and file RAH pilots have some control over pay rates by voting during their contract talks, but I'm pretty sure Bedford et al. didn't consult any pilots before making any descisions regarding operating in MKE.

What would you like the RAH pilots to do? Strike? Sick out? Remember they are constrained by the RLA (a la illegal job actions) just as you are.

Instead of asking others to help you, why not volunteer for your union and get involved directly with the merger talks???

When one decides to become an airline pilot, one must know getting into it that all control of long-term destiny is relinquished to forces beyond your control. It's just the nature of the beast.

Obviously you're upset (pun intended), but I can't see any RAH pilot's to blame for your plight.

It would be great to see those "Marketing and reservation employees" just walk off the job in solidarty of everyone at Midwest getting screwed.

Bedford loose $1,000's of dollars missing ticket sales and proper marketing for however long it takes to ramp up something of his own.

I also agree that RAH pilots can just show up and do their jobs without worry about this BS.

However, RAH pilots intially have a choice to bid on a schedule to put them on routes for Midwest.

If RAH pilots really care about Midwest pilots you'll see massive displacements and slow downs for flying on the Midwest side of things. But that'll never happen.

Ignorance is bliss. So sure, RAH pilots can just show up and do their jobs. Until the next "Republic style" company comes in and under cuts them.

You cannot change what you tolerate. So management wins and learns that they can do whatever they want and pilots will just show up and do their jobs in accordance with whatever BS comes their way.

Interesting: A TA between RAH and the F9 pilots, eh? This raises one of several possibilities. Here are only four:

1) The RAH pilots have ratified an amendment to Article 1 of their contract and there is no longer a requirement for RAH planes to be flown by pilots on the RAH seniority list.

2) RAH management has sold 51% of F9 to someone else to get around Article 1.

3) RAH management is acting with complete disregard for Article 1 and is daring Local 747 to do something about it.

4) There is no TA between RAH management and the F9 pilots.

Very nice response. Some angry and disallusioned Midwest pilots are blaming RJET for all their woes. RJET was simple a bank that allowed Midwest to remain in business a few month's longer. Midwest woes started long ago. Midwest failure is due to a failure of their business plan in the free market. Obviously passengers made their choice to fly their competitors. Costs at Midwest were too high. Its so simple.

LITTLE INCOME - HUGE EXPENSES = BAD LONG-TERM BUSINESS PLAN

Midwest wasn't offering the flight options that their customer based wanted. No company should remain in business that fails its customers. Midwest employees should look to and hold their CEO and Board of Directors responsible for all its woes. Lets hope that BB can make this company successful in the current market for its passengers, shareholders, and employees.

I find many complainers on this website actually hate and despise the free market. They want a guaranteed job in a non-competitive market. That's called socialism or communism folks. If that is what you really want, Cuba and Russia are great places to live.
