This week we received word from the Republic Integration Committee that the meetings scheduled for next week have been cancelled and that the next time they will be available to meet with our Merger Committee will be in late September.

That came out today from the Midwest MEC. Infer what you will....

My understanding is although Midwest has several airlines, but they have one SL. Can pilots change which airline/aircraft they fly for?

Me thinks that there is more to this whole story that will come out in time. This is just too much for BB to handle.

Information only:

RAH operates 3 airlines: Chautauqua, Shuttle America, and Republic. In addition, Midwest and Frontier have been recently acquired. At this point, Midwest and Frontier are not covered under the RAH CBA until a seniority integration takes place. To date, no significant meetings have taken place between the Teamsters (RAH), ALPA (Midwest), and FAPA (Frontier). YES, there is one master seniority list at RAH, which Midwest and Frontier pilots will become a part of at some point.

Under the current RAH CBA, pilots may bid for any position that results in an increase in pay. Since the current CBA has a single FO pay scale, FO's cannot change aircraft or airline. They may bid for ANY captain spot.

Chautauqua captains fly 50 seat or less aircraft.

Shuttle America flies 70 and 76 seat aircraft.

Republic flies 76, 86, and 94 seat aircraft.

There are four pay levels for captains at RAH, based on seats installed. Those scales are:

Less than 50 seats (E-135, E-140)

50-60some seats *contract not in front of me* (E-145, CRJ 200)

60some- 78 seats (E-170, Shuttle America E175)

78-99 seats (Republic E175, E190 in current configuration)

Note: there is no defined payscale above 99 seats yet, and there is NO payscale for a turboprop aircraft (all the above payscales specify jet aircraft)

An FO can bid any Captain spot. A CHQ captain can bid for either Shuttle America or Republic captain. A Shuttle America captain can bid for Republic E190 captain. A Republic captain is currently stuck, since no lateral or backwards pay moves are allowed under this CBA.

Midwest E190's will be flown on the republic certificate. Midwest pilots could end up anywhere in the RAH mix, depending on the outcome of seniority integration and any negotiated protections for bases, etc. Same applies to Frontier pilots.

Thank you for your rational and comprehensive answer. Finally...

So the question begs, F9 has made mention that if aquired, their (F9) unions rules would be used, mandating one pilot list, hows that going to work out?

After reading the commuter airline whipsaw setup that is Republic, I'm in disbelief FAPA decided to be part of this mess. You may as well be cfi's hoping for your 1st job, that's who you'll be yanking gear for. Feel sorry for the FO's though...SWA senioity # gone. That just sucks.

It was a pipe dream, there never was any SWA seniority #.

Will you help us or should we just fade away silently?

YX pilots blaming management will have no effect on our situation. Management is making a concerted effort to eradicate every one of us.

Republic Pilots: I've read many posts that state "we're just doing our job," "it's not our fault, we feel bad for the YX guys but there is nothing we can do about it." A comparison that I would draw would be the many war atrocities which have occurred throughout history where the offending parties who committed horrible crimes stated, "it's not our fault, we were following orders." Granted, what's being done to the YX pilots is not nearly as egregious as my example, however, to us this is a life altering experience. I'm also reading posts regarding Republic contract negotiations which state "we have to get our pay up to industry standards for the good of the profession". You came into MKE, under cut our rates until all the YX Pilots are gone AND NOW YOU WANT A PAY RAISE? WHAT ABOUT US! I don't mean to be inflammatory but actions speak louder than words.

F9 Pilots: You were recently on the bubble concerned about your future. You now have a new lease on life. F9 will be flying YX flights under some bogus code share agreement, further ensuring the end of our careers.

We need a grass roots effort from both Republic and Frontier line pilots. WILL YOU HELP?

I kinda answered in another thread, but yes, we'll help. It seems the F9 pilots expect to see YX pilots on the Master list.

Sure, they'll help by adding you to the bottom of their seniority list. Why else would they be putting SLI talks on hold. They're waiting for every YX pilot to be furloughed. This obviously gives them a lot more leverage if arbitration happens.

In case you haven't noticed, Midwest pilots are the plague. The industry must be rid of this vermin. With our terrible safety record and awful customer service, you had to know we had it coming. Look how many years we spent in Ch. 11! Next time the CEO demands a 50% pay cut, you should roll over and take it in the keyster. Scope clause, Schmope clause,
they'll find some red diaper lawyers to carve it up.
