Southwest remains the only US airline with an investment grade credit rating, a sign of the company's strength within the volatile airline industry.
The credit rating agency said the company's outlook was "stable."
Dallas-based Southwest reported a second-quarter profit Tuesday, but its CEO noted that profitability was not a given in the third quarter.

I doubt if anything is a given right now.
 
"One class above junk status" is something many other airlines would kill for!
