For all you airways international folks. My friend is riding on a buddy pass to london. My question is; if all the coach seats are sold, will he be put in first class without an upgrade fee or will he be left behind? Doesn't matter where he rides just as long as he gets on.

If there are no seats in coach, they will put him in first but you HAVE to have an upgrade. It's not automatic and free.

They are $100.00 and I think you can get them at the gate now. The best thing is to get 2 round trip upgrades a head of time. You can return the unused upgrades for a refund when he gets back.
