No. No. No. Do you work in the airline industry? Demand for airframes does not have anything to do with seniority integration.

There or their? Fair or Fare? Learn how to spell.

Yeah, I know...Flamebait.

Eric Pogo

How could you be so naive to believe this guy is serious? Don't you recognize Tanker Clown? He's baiting everyone on each forum. I actually find a lot of what he says pretty comical - but you have to understand he is trying to get a rise out of everyone and he only says super-controversial statements. Don't fall for his crazy statements...

Maybe they could send the Q200s back to Bomberdier and get them stretched to Q400s? Then they would be in great demand and at a fraction of buying a new Q400!

The Q400 is a totally different Beast then the others (100/200/300). You just can't grab a Q200 and stretch it to a Q400.

Why not? Look what they did with the DC-9/MD-80. I think you are wrong. All it should take is a simple fuselage plug to make a Q200 into a Q400.

Nope, the Q400 trues out at about 100kts more. The wing struts, Tail Section, Rudder.... etc.. etc.. would have to be totally rebuilt. All the speed limitations on the Q400 at way different then the other Q's. Thats why I said the Q400 was a totally different airplane.

There were plugs used to make the 100's into 300's, but it can't be done with a Q400.

NOT possible!!! Been part of the Bombardier family at one point and by reading all their mail that states all of their long term projects, I don't see it happening. This will probably slow their sales on the Q4 which is their bread and butter.

Well if Bomberdier won't do it, then a third party conversion should be started. In addition to the Qs, they could stretch 50 seat CRJs into CRJ 700s and 900s and could also stretch ERJs into 70 seaters easily. This would allow cash strapped smaller regionals an economical way to get into larger RJs without the large capitol outlay of buying new.
