I have the project to comply with the new aviation emissions trading scheme in the EU. We are going to modify PFM software to make the calculation and created the required reports. I am wondering how other departments are planning to comply?

Is your company going to participate in the tonne/km benchmarking?

Who are you using as an EU approved auditor?

Any help or ideas will be appreciated..........

We are waiting to hear from the French, our controlling agency. We would be considered a small emitter, so hopefully it won't be to bad. I received an email from them that said we would get specifics soon. So there are few answers so far.

We were lucky to get the UK. We should have the online application available in mid July. We are not a commercial operator so we do not qualify for the small emitter. Only the EU could make gettting a Part 135 look like a good idea.

The really sad thing for us is that it will cost us thousands of dollars to comply and the cost to offset our actual emission in the EU is about $500 a year at the going rate of $2 per metric ton of CO2.

oh, we are not commercial operator either. guess I need to re- read that. I thought 135 was exempt from the program.

I am sorry, Simplified Reporting Procedures apply to non-commercial operators who fly either fewer than 243 flights per 4 month period for 4 consecutive months (Jan to Apr, May to Aug or Sept to Dec) or emit less than 10,000 metric tonnes of CO2 per year. I got it confused with something else.

We have too many flights to qualify.

we are p91 with fewer that 243 flights so hopefully small emitter status won't be too onerous. we shall see.

everyone just SAY NO, and put an end to this TAX.

are you guys mice or men?

they could just raise the fuel tax instead of creating more red tape....think about it!!!
