Who gives a sh*t about an article with the "final truth"? You think big fat ass americans care about this? You think it's actually going to change anything? NO. As long as people can pay a cheaper ticket and guys keep spending 100K for flight training nothing will change. So just make your peace with some of this sh*t and suck it up ladies.

I don't think people saw it as problem when Regionals only few about 10-20% of the mainline's flying. Now you have flooded the sky's with inexperience pilots that do about 50% of the mainline flying.

There is a problem here and I am glad it is getting some attention.

Neil A. Weston, also 25, went $100,000 into debt to train for a co-pilot’s job that pays him $25,000 annually.

My question...Why.

$100,000 SRSLY.. How much do these "schools" cost.

EDIT: So I looked it up and most "TOP" Colleges cost 40K-50K/year.
You can drop 200K at GWU for a 4-year degree. Or if you are the type, can go to Harvard undergrad for 4 years, and be able to drop "The H-bomb" on people. Just watch out for Matt Damon-like personas at the bar...:)

Granted I like my job, BUT would have NEVER paid that much. Oh well.

$100,000!!!

Answer: A lot.

Serious Answer: That would be about average for some of these local "certificate shops" in metro areas. They think that since youre in a big city you need to pay 100K for your flight training through CFIMEII...

I dont get it either.

Wow, I'm glad he didn't use his real name or didn't mention his companies name either. He would have really been stupid to take a picture in uniform as well!
