the gouge is public. I didn't think what that dude from CHO posted on the wall was anywhere else. Had training telling us about it 2 months ago, and that feds were involved...... yet we still took the same test.... WTF!?
 
Yes its lame but maybe it means next time I have a CA checking something weird like the aileron trim tab he'll be checking the correct wing.

Come on, the old way was certainly easier but we can all stand to work a little harder on learning systems. Its honestly probably a good thing.

Uh, isn't there one on each aileron?

C'mon guys... Yeah, it sucks, but most of you guys have been flying that thing so long you know how many rivets hold the airstair door on. I bet I can still go and pass the written.

I'd fail the checkride by the engine start though...:D

Kinda sorta. There is a 'spring tab' on each airlieron.

The only trimmable spring tab is on the right aileron. Its on P.126 of the systems manual.

If your aileron trim indicator is MEL'd - the MEL tells you to visually verify that the trimmable spring tab is in the nuetral position. Helps to know which wing has the trimmable tab.

Minor details really - but the point is that theres things all of us can learn by having a more thorough written evaluation.

Jar Jar- Opec was making a joke. Did people make fun of you in high school? He's got over 4000 hours in a dash, he knows what a spring tab is.

Lots of people have over 4000 hours in a dash. Some of them seem to be lacking in the systems department.

Total time in type does not grant anyone thorough systems knowledge. I'm sure even you will agree that there are those who are content to just 'know the gouge' and get through training without learning much if anything at all.
