Looks like they have a pretty big fleet of Beechjets, Citation IIs and a Hawker 850 or two. Their website claims they own roughly 30 airplanes. Are they growing, shrinking, hiring, laying off? I think I read in a previous post that they were paying 60K for Captains and 40K for FOs.

Any recent news? Some other questions: Do they have any other pilot domiciles beyond Elkhart? What's the typical schedule these days? Do pilots fly one aircraft or multiple types? And, what aircraft do pilots tend to start on - the King Air, Citation II or Beechjet?

PMs are welcome.

Not hiring at this time. All crews went to a mandatory 15 on 13 off schedule when the company did a way with 8 on 6 off.

Your base is where you live as long as one is within an hour drive of an airport served by three flights a day.

As far as pay, you're in the ball park; its 65k and 45k first year with close to a 5k raise per year for captains and a 1k raise for F/O's.

Jravi8tor,

That's some great intel. It's nice to hear that you could live in virtually any mid-sized or larger city. I like that flexibility because the Midwest is starting to get to me...

Can you tell us any more about how aircraft types are assigned IF they were hiring? Would it be based on vacancies or on previous experience or both? Let's say there were multiple openings on the Citation II, Beechjet (older), and B400A fleets, how would they be filled?

If

Johnsonrod, there is no IF, more like RIF. We got a Reduction in Force email, which undoubtedly will be involuntary furloughs, firings, and God help us, reduction in pay and benefits. Apparently they are parking 2 planes which they should have gotten rid of a long time (logic would tell me the planes that don't fly... the Citation S2s or straight 400s).
Your resume will be accepted, printed out, and placed on someone's desk where it will sit unnoticed until a pilot complains, and mgmt will then point to it and show us how many hundreds of people will eagerly replace us. :uzi:

A lot of people have been complaining about the mandatory switch to 15/13, and have been saying they are going to quit. Lets see if they were talking trash, or serious. At least now they could get unemployment.

Could 1 of the two airplanes be the King Air? What if it was the King Air and the Bonanza?

Four.

I say pick any two of the various a/c models around HQ's and park those. They don't do anything except collect dust bunnies.

Copy that. It's unfortunately a sign of the times. The 15/13 schedule seems very difficult and destablizing for anyone with a family. I doubt I could handle that. It's unfortunate because I would maybe consider this operation during a better economy because I like the fact that pilots can live almost anywhere and still fly some nice airplanes. IF TMC was hiring, I probably would still look elsewhere with the 15/13 schedule. That's too bad - I would hope that they reconsider if some of their better people leave in droves (when the economy starts to pick up and better opportunities present themselves).

Good luck to everyone there.

Yea, they say the stack of resumes they have are for people just dying to work for TMC because mgmt has this ego about it being the best place in the world to work...unfortunately people didn't want to come work a 15/13 schedule, TMC just happened to be the only place hiring like crazy as the economy was taking a dive last year. When the economy turns around no sane person will ever take a job that keeps you away from your family for two weeks at a time. They kept telling us big things were coming...I guess this was it.

I am looking to get on with TMC. I have worked the 15/13 schedule with other operators and liked it. What is the problem? Can you quit so I can get a job that can be stable and pay my bills?

Hey man I am out of work and would love to have a job with a schedule. You are merely speculating at best. It's the Internet and you are a joke. I am trying to feed my family and you are speculating.
Go home and curl up in a little ball and have your insecure wife wisper sweet nothings into your ear. WHAT A JOKE.

Sorry hard times bring out hard facts, grow up.

Is B. Miller the Chief pilot over there still? I met him a couple of years ago in St. Louis when he just started there or was about to go there. He said they had just hired him to make sweeping chnges at TMC and from what I keep reading on here, he is making thoes changes. I hope it's all working out good.

Really? Take a breather. It's not necessary to get nasty with anybody. That's great that you like that sort of schedule, but there is no reason to get defensive about. All he said was it would be difficult for him. It's not for everybody, so calm down and respect his opinion. BTW, Lear 60 and used to do this schedule and liked it seems awfully familiar to a particular person in TMC management...no names, but if it's you then this is kinda disappointing and immature. Just saying.

Chill out dork. Speculating? I have a secure regional job and that schedule wouldn't work for ME and MY FAMILY (including kids). Why don't you read the post before you respond? It may work for you but not me - GET IT?

In the meantime, quit acting like such an a$$ and you might have a better chance of being hired somewhere. You must be a pleasure to fly with... Thanks for derailing my thread with your lame diatribe which added nothing to the discussion.

GREAT LAKES JERK!

You're probably out of work because you are such an idiot. For anyone to bring up someone elses' wife is a complete piece of work.

Johnsonrod was only giving his OPINION, learn to respect others opionion.

Never heard of him. I have been around for over 2 years and he has never been our chief or asst chief or anything else. We have 3 Millers working for our company and none have a B for their first name.

My opinion?

It's not for everybody, so calm down and respect his opinion.

I understand I came across in a negative way, but things are getting stressful looking for work, and just felt he was whining. This was my opinion can I not voice it? Maybe respect my opinion at that time, wrong or not.

Your opinion is ok, just don't attack someones' wife or Mother. Afterall this is a website for "us" pilots, not for attacking wifes.

15/13, i'll do that kneeling on hard rice with a smile on my face. sounds liek a cush schedule to me.

Right on brother! Anything is better than humping fright out of Mexico at night on a 20 min call out.

Is that all that goes on here at flight info people bashing other people because they have different opinions???WTF
