Hey has anyone heard anything about some movement at CJC?
They have been firing people left and right but still overstaffed. a few might get picked up in the mean time but I doubt it. The question is will Colgan still get the 15 more Qs in 2010. Then there will be hiring.
1900 FO's were pissed that they had to have 500 in type to upgrade. The 500 just could not come fast enough, and it was "BS" that the company required that much.
500 in type is unreasonable for upgrade??
I certainly hope I missed the mocking sarcasm of this statement! :erm:
I have flown with guys from Mesa recently that said the 1900 upgrade there went as low as a few months or weeks. That would have been 2007 I believe.
Hi!
MOST airlines require 0 in time in type to upgrade: NWA/DAL, CAL, UAL, USAIr, etc., etc.
If your seniority can get you a bid for captain, and you meet the minimums for captain at the airline, then you are upgrading in that aircraft.
For example, you were hired on as a 757 FO. Later, you bid successfully for 737 Capt and you are now in the next training class for 737 captain, with 0 time in type.

PS-I had about 300 in type as an FO when I got my latest capt type rating.
