Great idea, sounds like there are about 1,000 of them out there, and I guess that is just the start. I am a furloughed guy, but will sport the red bracelet proudly.

However, I wanted to ask a favor to all of you who are on the line and wearing them. If you see someone wearing them with no "147 on the street" sticker on their flight bag, ask them where it is and tell them that there are 147 hostages that also want to know. I am proud to see some unity regarding the contract negotiations, but we need it as well for our brothers and sisters on the street. I can't tell you how many flights I have been on as a nonrev where the flight attendants don't even know that we have furloughed pilots. Its our responsibility as a pilot group and as a union to make sure that everyone not just knows, but remembers that we have 147 people on the street fighting it out in the worst job market in many many years. Another message to all of those who donated to the Christmas gift, that was greatly appreciated, as is everyone's donation to pay our health insurance.

You are not forgotten. In fact, I just got off the phone with one of union leaders about our pathetic staffing. There is a "pissed off majority" here. Who knows where this is going, but we definitely need you guys back "yesterday". Sadly, the company thinks we are "overstaffed". If they don't want to pay us then they will just have to shut the doors.

Wearing the FUPM bracelet with pride, Sticker of No VJM, however I have asked many for the 147 on furlough sticker to which I was told there are not anymore. If anyone has one PM me.

Doing what I can to bring you guys back. I just can't see coming to work this week...... Ahhhh my Eyes!

Happy Landings!

good stuff gentlemen! someone also suggested that they put 147 on the bracelets, but the orders had already been placed. i hope there are red bracelets all over the CAL bases. there has to be some response to LK's "the sky is falling" Chronicle article two weeks after he said all airplane orders delivered on time, best days ahead. If those aren't games, then I don't know anything.

For those of us not CAL employees, could you provide the decoder ring?

FUPM?

VJM?

We outsiders want to support our colleagues but we'd like it to be informed support. Mahalo!

FUPM is Flying UnderPaid Monthly (gotta be PC)

VJM is Voluntary Junior Man (Captains flying as FOs for 1.5X their captain pay) CAL offered this a few weeks after they announced furloughs and days before the furlough took place. Hence the heartburn folks have with the scum who did this last summer.

FUPM

Interesting, I remember a negotiation log ago at an airline that's now in the dustbin where we used that expression; it comes from a great movie and we got a lot of laughs out of that one.

Good luck if you happen to be MM, you're a class guy.

Thanks for the information. I'll have to get in touch with my CAL buddy. I didn't think things were quite that bad over there.
