Air Azul Announces New, Nonstop Air Service to New York and Baltimore-Washington D.C. from Lansing
Airline Celebrates with Introductory $59* Fares
LANSING, Mich.,March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Region International Airport (LAN) March 13th, 2009 - Today Air Azul announced new, nonstop flights to the New York and Baltimore-Washington D.C.areafrom Lansing, MI beginning June 2nd. The low-fare charter operator will celebrate with introductory fares as low as $59* each way.
"We are extremely pleased to offer the Air Azul brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Capital Region International Airport in Lansing," said, Brian Burling, Vice President for Air Azul.
Air Azul will launch the new scheduled service from Capital Region International Airport in Lansing to Newark Liberty International Airport and Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport with three flights weekly. The flights will operate Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Air Azul will utilize a 162-seat, 737-800 series, New Generation, jet-aircraft on the route.

The Capital Region International Airport recently completed nearly $10 million in airport road and runway construction work that included lengthening the main runway to 8,500 feet to safely and efficiently accommodate large aircraft and heavy cargo planes. A new $4.2 million United States Customs and Border Protection Federal Inspection Station is on schedule to open in May 2009 at the airport. The 14,000 square foot facility will be able to process up to 200 international commercial airline passengers per hour.

Air Azul's $59* one-way fares are limited, not available on all flights and must be purchased by May 30, 2009for complete travel by Sept. 30, 2009. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares start as low as $69 one-way.
