Just wondering if anyone on here uses turbotax to do your taxes. I've heard that the "one up from the bottom" costs about 30 bucks and has a section for transportation workers that is pretty good. I usually go to Jackson Hewitt or H & R Block, but they usually charge 200-300 bucks. If any of you guys use turbo tax and don't mind telling how much you usually get back. Or if anyone knows a good crew tax guy in the BNA area I just moved here. Thanks.

I use flica for the perdium computations and then plug it into turbo tax. Very easy and e-file makes it very fast.

I've been using it for years and can highly recommend it. A quick search will turn up several threads discussing the pros / cons of doing your own taxes with TurboTax.

I have used it with pilot expenses, purchase and sale of houses, bought & sold stocks and with the help of JK Lasser's tax guide I've always felt comfortable doing my own taxes.

I used it for more than 15 years. I was happy with it. Until last year. I paid an accountant for the first time in my life. Wow, big difference.

All I will say is I am a pilot. My accountant has years of experience doing tax returns, but I wouldn't want him to try and fly a plane.

Why do I think I could do a better job?

I use EzPerDiem.com in conjunction with TurboTax. I just plug the numbers I get off of EzPerDiem.

Ditto. Ezperdiem was crazy easy AND it talks you through inputting the numbers into turbotax or taxcut. Use this code and save $$$ on the cost of experdiem C2MAEK . I just did my taxes and by using my perdiem, it increased my refund by almost 200 bucks.. Ezperdiem cost me like 30.. soo.. It definately pays!!!

Thats why I usually to go to somewhere like Jackson Hewitt. The people there seem to be hit or miss and I usually have to explain per diem and all that to them and the refunds vary wildly per year even though I basically so the same stuff year after year. I tried to call the people at crewtaxes.com to ask questions but its going on day 3 of no calls back so I'm guessing if I get treated like this now they wont be worth my time. Best case senario would be for someone on here to know a good person in the BNA area that I could go to in person, since this years taxes will be more complicated since I had a kid and bought a house and want to the the head of houshold thing since I'm not married to baby momma yet, but she and the kid live with me and both dont work so I heard thats a nice bid deduction as well.

I've used it for 3 years now. Did H&R block one year and found it to be a huge ripoff. I agree with the last poster that the FLICA thing is great if you have that service available. Just plug in the numbers it spits out. Works like a charm and takes all the leg work out of it.

For all of you guys paying somebody to do your perdiem, why? It's pretty easy to do yourself. Maybe took me about an hour to do!

My question is, why are you guys trying to get a bigger refund, which is just paying less in taxes. After all, isn't it patriotic to pay more taxes? :)
