Legendskid make sure you also check out the units homepages. Often times they have a section for UPT boards ect. The 104th FW over in Baltimore is accepting apps for the F-15, I believe as a result of brac they lost their A-10's and they are now have the F-15's.

Im also a relatively new CFI out of college in the Chicago area and I feel your pain! Is the A-10 unit in MI having a UPT board anytime soon?

Batlimore still has A-10's. It is/was Barnes in Mass that went from the A-10 to the F-15.

Hiring

Legendskid, BC hired 4 last year for UPT in C-21/C-27. Possible board sometime this summer. Keep your eyes open on Wantscheck.com, Baseops.net, and Goang.com. We don't own the official GOANG site so it is really hard to keep it updated and correct. We prefer the new guys to live close to the unit because it is alot easier for them to make money and show up. You will probably be with 3-4 airlines in your career vice the same unit for 20 years. Where do you really think it will be easier to live when you get furloughed?
Now listen up all you wannabe's-if you think you are just going to get into the guard with the attitude that you are doing it because you aren't good enough or economically savvy enough to get a gig somewhere else, think again. When I see crap like legendskid is posting in your resume, and I do see alot of it, don't be surprised when you don't get an interview. Why do you think we hire so many prior service members and people from within the unit? Because they have already sacrificed something and have something to show us. I get at least a hundred resumes for every board. Just graduating college with a flying degree doesn't mean jack to us on the board. People like that are a dime a dozen. College is easy, life is hard. The sooner applicants realize this, the better off they will be. I am not saying this to be a tool, but I hope this sheds some light on a hiring board's perspective. BTW-I know one guy who got an interview because he had an interesting run in with the law and was very up front about it. That's technique only and I don't recommend it for most people.

I'm an rj guy at the regionals for the last several years, based in GA commute from TX and was wondering about any jobs with Guard units Army Guard or Air Guard aside from flying. Past 30years old now and have a 4 year degree so options are limited. Any advice?

One of my friends flies full time for an ANG unit that is losing its F-16s. A lot of them are pretty pissed, because they were told not that long ago by USAF there units future was secure, but then they find out they are in the list to lose their jets, and it had been in the planning for some time apparently. So now it sounds like they will be a joint unit with the active duty guys, flying Hercs and maybe Ospreys.

Southern Cross 7, there are lots of jobs in the guard. It just depends on what your interests may be. A lot of people start off being the p*** test officer and work their way up from there. Talk to the officer recruiter from the local unit you are interested in or go to the GOANG website.

Ospreys out of where?

By the way...if he is hoping to fly, Ospreys is NOT the place to be. It is called the CV-22-180...taxis out and then does a 180 back to the ramp for a MX cancel.

Tacos.

It came down to them a few months ago. I should find out if it has been finalized what they were doing, there was talk of being a joint unit with either the F-22s at Holloman or with the V-22s and MC-130s at Kirtland.

They are unhappy about it how it happened, but at least they will still probably have a flying mission.
