Anyone know if NJ Europe still requires all it's pilot's to have an EU Passport and right to work in Europe? I know some companies allow you to work for them while they sponsor you in some way, allowing you to work without technically holding an EU Passport?

Also, anyone know if/when they're hiring??

Thanks!

This question comes up about once a month.

Yes, they require the whole enchilada, JAA ATPL, JAA medical, EU passport, and obviosuly the right to work/live anywhere in the European union.

Not sure if they're hiring, might want to try pprune.com, lots of Europeans hang out there

I work at Netjets Europe. No hiring for some time, only cadets at this time and only because they are already hired and in training.

No upgrades until the earliest July, and from what I gather that is not a guarantee either.

Like said earlier, right to live and work in the EU/Norway/Switzerland, with valid passports from those countries. Full JAA licence and medical needed, however, JAA ATPL is not necessary, I know, I was hired without it.

Yeah but you probably had a frozen ATP, correct??

correct me if I'm wrong, but if I remember correctly, a frozen ATPL is when you have a JAA Private, instrument and commercial multi, and you take the ATPL written. That's known as a frozen ATPL, I guess it becomes unfrozen when you hit the require time to have an ATPL, I think its 1500TT.

Yep, that's about the crux of it.

There are also a couple of countries (e.g. Switzerland?) where you need to have the initial type rating to "unlock" the FATPL (or something strange like that!).

JAR stuff is "meant" to be the same across Europe!!

If anyone is thinking of jumping across, some of the licencing details for the UK can be found via here.

Specific details are at D2.5 of this link - caution, 1.25Mb.

You are correct Sir.
