With someone with some insight, what is the easiest commute from DFW to .... ATL, NYC, SLC, CVG, LAX, MSP, MEM, SEA, DTW

I know what ATL is like. Just trying to figure out were I would want to be based in the future.

DFW to ATL can be a nightmare as you probably know. DFW to JFK (via LGA on AA) might not be too bad. Obviously DL doesnt have a lot of flights to our hubs from DFW besides ATL, with a lot of RJs to the other hubs. If AA has a lot of flights and their gate agents are nice that day, then it might not be too bad. The flights to ATL need a jumpseat (not a flight attendant jump since there are so many of those commuters too). Maybe the FNWA pilots can chime in about DFW to DTW, MSP, and MEM.

I have two NWA buddies that live near DFW. "The RJs have taken over," is the line I usually hear. I suppose there are worse commutes. Here is a sample of the daily Feb. schedule.

DFW MSP
3 CRJs Pinnacle or Mesaba
3 EMB175s Compass
1 A319 NWA

DFW DTW
2 CRJs
2 A319s

DFW MEM
2 CRJ
1 319

Good luck!!

DFW-LGA can be very difficult.. There are many commuters back and forth between 2 of our hubs. However as of late I have met a few DAL guys on our first 640am flight up there. Depending on the season and time of the day can make it challenging. Through in a little weather and it all falls apart.

I have realized that a commute out of DFW will be quite difficult for at least 10 years. There are just to many people that stayed after the DAL base left.
I know guys that say the DTW and MSP commutes are not to bad. I also know of three or four guys that commute to LAX. One sits reserve as a 757 CA and states that it is not bad at all. AMR has flights all day to all three of the airports that we fly out of.

If you live in base.......... you don't have to commute. Imagine that.

I do dumbass (ATL) wife wants to move back to DFW area.

Thanks guys for your input and suggestions.

Hey ACL, are you going back to DFW once the SOC is done? I'm not wanting to fly the 9 just to stay in ATL.

There's also SWA as an option from DAL to DTW, via one stop.

SW may be an option for you to MSP once they get things rolling as well, but for now I've heard only MDW from MSP.

Commuting with AA is a nightmare no matter where you go. And DFW to JFK or LGA is terrible too, especially since AA is limited to one jump seater. You'll always be trying to run to the gate and be the first one to check in. It's BS if you ask me. I think we need to start limiting AA jumpseaters on other airlines too.
