Hi All,

I was wondering if I could get some info about the forecast at horizon air for this year.

I'm moving to Tacoma in April (from Australia) and from what I've heard around the traps they are good operators.

Most of my experience is single pilot IFR in Aerocommander's in oz but I have the FAA IR and M/E CPL. My wife's family is from the Seattle area so if anybody could provide any information about Horizon or any other operator in the area that would be worth a look into send me a PM.

Cheers!

QX just furloughed more guys this week from what I hear. All the jets are eventually going away. They have delayed more -400 deliveries. :(

We have 68 on furlough now and it doesn't look good for recall in 09. It's going to be a while before Horizon hires again.

Bugger,

Thanks for the responses guys.

Can you guys suggest some regional airlines / operators that are commutable or in the Seattle, WA / Portland, OR area.

Thanks again fellas.

SkyWest has a PDX base with Brasilias but I'm pretty sure they aren't hiring either. As far as I know we are the only 2 regionals with bases in the Northwest.

Horizon has 68 people on furlough but check airmen are getting critical pay to fly as FOs. Good unity they have there. Many people there hate the place. It looks good from the outside but those on the inside think much differently. They have back to back three days, 8 legs a day, and aren't paid block or better.

For places in Seattle look into Aeroflight or Ameriflight.

It's a heck of a lot better than being on furlough or not having a job! Perspective?

Go back to Australia.
