So after the day your DO fires 23 pilots he doe's not like or thinks there slakers, management is throwing a hudge Christmas Party in SFO for all management and sales people.
Merry Christmas

Sorry to all who were let go.

Nice. At least Flops had the sensitivity to cancel theirs.

Gather a group and protest. Isn't that what people do in SFO??

Sorry to hear about the job losses, guys and gals.

They got 2.2 billion in the bank and can't keep the 23 until after the first of the year.

They don't have it in the bank, they just have that much in a line of credit for purchasing new aircraft. Even then, it's probably mostly "marketing hype" number, because these days, I doubt that any bank would actually let XOJ (alone) have that much credit out at one time. Since they are selling whole and half shares, it is probably more like a financing arrangement for them to purchase 2+ billion worth of aircraft, but the risk would be spread out among all the A/C owners, not just XOJ. Either way, it's still crappy of them to spend money celebrating while they're putting people on the street.

Very tacky to have a huge party after laying off people.

Only if they're protesting against Christians, the military (especially the USMC), or conservatives!

Cinch them belts down tight boys and girls. It's gonna be one heluva ride!

When are pilots going to get it.
We ARE Labor, nothing more. just a number on a cost sheet.

as soon as you take emotion from it , it just becomes business.

IT still sucks for the people who get the boot,

Sounds like XO and CS need a union to prevent management from destroying those companies as well.

Look what management has done already, and it's undisputable.

if you really believe a union could have stopped this you are smoking some good ********************! if a company has to let people go to survive no union is going to stop that in any way shape or form... its about the money, and yes it too can happen here at nja

....it is the prudent thing to do to throw a huge xmas party.

Look on the bright side (the 23 who got the boot): It is because of you and your hard work and dedication that you've given to the company, that will enable some stressed out management to relax and have a good time!

CS and XO are some of the better run organizations but no one could predict what has gone on. No manager wants to shrink his company or lay off people now or at any time.
I wonder how elaborate the party really was.

Not to be a smarta$$, but how do you know that XO and CS have great managers?? Have you meet them, you are them?? Just wondering.

You really are a dummy. Much like the car ceo's showing up in 3 gulfstreams, firing workers then having a christmas party is in poor taste and shows a lack of understanding of the employee moral and political climate.

But what would you know? Obviously not much.
