I own two LuggageWorks suitcases, the 22" and 26". I have had them for years and they have held up well. I recently purchased a LuggageWorks "stealth duffle." When this arrived, the first thing I noticed was an overwhelming disgusting chemical factory smell. Then, I noticed the fabric didn't quite seem the same as the other LW products I own. I looked in the bag, and was surprised to see a "Made in China" tag. Upon further inspection, it is obvious that the zippers and the linings to the zippers are cheap crap that I am willing to bet will break in short order.

I am sad to see that LW is abandoning their long held quality standards. I highly recommend sending a note to LW to urge them to not sell out the good name of their products to Chinese manufacturing.

It is sad. It is a great product. Just like Master Lock company and Levis' jeans.... LW is or soon will be made overseas.

Sending an email to LW is NOT the solution. I am sure they want to continue USA made just like you do.

The problem is not enough Americans care if their Levi's jeans or Master locks are made in the USA. And our gov't isn't willing to give tax breaks and incentives for LW, Levis' and Mastor Lock to stay in the US.

So your issue is really with every American out there that economically loves cheap China and supports a gov't that supports cheap China so Americans are happy... (thus the cycle).

The other issues is the decline in buying power of the last 9 years. Americans have to buy the cheap chinese crap. They can't afford to to buy American, which would help other Americans keep their jobs, which would help everyone.... another damaging cycle....

Well, you started to get it right. But then, you blamed Americans. Of course everyone wants the best value at the lowest price. The answer is your first statement (tax breaks, incentives), not the second.

The problem is "free trade". Free trade in theory is a good idea, but when you trade with countries that have a far lower standard of human rights and basically have slave labor, it really isn't "Free".

Rez is for the Gubmint and she is here to help!

Rezbot blames America. You take white guilt and just pour on the coals, don't you honky! I would bet my next unemployment check (mmm, yummy welfare) that you are a frequent submissive client in S+M partays. If not, try that as a less public outlet for your self-loathing, sickazz.

If only the Gubmint would make things right?!?! You are truly off your nut! It is humbling to know that my vote each year can only cancel out your own, and no more.

Jump, and Shroom, great points!

Yes, Americans for not being participatory in their country, lives and government.

When American citizens don't participate in the decisions made by elected leaders, leaders usually do what is best for them or their special interests.

If Americans were much more participatory, then the outsourcing of American jobs to China could have been reduced....

You like American jobs going to China?

The vast majority of Americans are dumb sheep. Even accounting for my misantropic views, it's still an objective reality. Don't expect the hoi polloi to save us from anything. They're too dependant on the system coyly paved by the upper echelons to retain the power and control of the systems movement.

The Golden Rule:

He who holds the gold, rules.

He who pays the piper, calls the tune.

C'est la vie.

Many of us on the right side of the aisle would like to reduce taxes on business...It's your side of the aisle that wants to raise taxes on business....

We have the second highest corporate tax rate in the world....How about we reduce that.....

you got it..... and ignorance is bliss....

There is a lot of ignorance....all around...

However many of us who do get involved have different opinions on how to improve things.....You can't blame it all on ignorance....
