I'm guessing some folks are spending more time in hotels these days between flights.

Just wondering what boredom "countermeasures" folks use when stuck in the same hotel for more than say...four days...

I've officially reached the end of the internet.

Now what?

BORED.

You have a job. And if you're on the internet, you're not in Carrizo Springs, TX. Consider yourself blessed.

Become a barfly. Read a book (or work on that book you're writing). Buy Rosetta Stone and learn a foreign language (I recommend Chinese, Russian or Farsi, we'll be speaking them before too long)

Surf for the raunchiest p0rn you can find and forward it to all your friends. Buy an Xbox and bring it on the road with you.

Start training for an Ironman. Troll the local dive bars for easy sluts. Did I mention Xbox?

I carry work out bands and do long work outs, followed by hours of walking. Oh...and I'm a political junky, so I debate on several different websites. Of course, I use a very loose definition of the word debate.

Those are good!

- Go moon some traffic.
- Hit on the chick at the front desk. ugly or not
- come up with some flame bait for flightinfo
- Call up some ex's!

At least you have job. Is this really important? Think about all the pilots that wish they had your problem.

This thread is about fighting boredom. Stick to that or move along.

Seriously, nobody likes seeing anyone out of work, but lighten up Francis.

Dude... stuck in a hotel for 4 days and you're whining?

Wow! Let's see:

- Tourist attractions
- Fun stuff to do - i.e. if you're in the mountains, go snowboarding or skiing. If you're some place warm by the ocean - go to the beach, go fishing, check out the local pawn shops...
- Find the best local food joint - usually they're the best kept secret in town.

If you really want to be a laptop geek - you can purchase and download Sid Meyer Civilization III Gold Edition. It's well worth $20. It'll keep you busy for days and months, let alone hours... or you can be productive and maybe start some kind of Internet business... or maybe start working on your Masters degree.

Lots of stuff to do on the road. The unfortunate thing is you can't get to it all.... HAVE FUN!!!! ENJOY LIFE! and be very grateful that you have a job.

Do what you always do...ramble on and on about the embraer until those around you want to vomit, then start another thread and do it again. You never seem to tire of telling us all that there's nothing in aviation hotter and better than the Legacy.

Surely you haven't become bored with that too?

I find the best espresso in town. Hopefully you'll be in either an area that has good espresso that isn't at starbucks. Or you'll be stuck at starbucks but there will be cool stuff to find outside because your not in a big city.

When I find the hipster cafe I usually manage to strick up a conversation with someone interesting. In a college town? The interesting person usually resembles a hot college chick :D

In a non espresso environment, I have enjoyed: hiking, surfing, mountain biking, running on the beach with a hot chick and hanging out in some hot springs in all while being paid.

Course there was that week in TEB on call. That kinda sucked. No good coffee, nothing to do outside. Loads of slutty chicks around though on that trip. See lots of stuff to do.

No, I said, "Say four days."

I'm just curious what people do when they run out of things to do...

That's an idea.

Doing the former. Already have the latter and don't need another.

A game doesn't sound like a bad idea though...

Depends on how you look at it.

Trying to educate the uneducatable gets tiresome more so than boring... People have their minds (incorrectly) made up on that score and nothing anyone says will change that...

Oh well.

You could go back and fix all those burned bridges.

Oh wait that would take years. Nevermind.

Who cares? I don't need them any way otherwise they wouldn't have burned--no wait, NAPALMED. ;) If you burn a bridge let it light your path.

Live and learn...live and learn...

Shoulda' learned my lesson about coming back to this nonsense with muckraking anonymous lunatics casting stones from behind cover. Oye. :) Nice to see you have something productive to do, Diesel...
