Just curious if anyone knows what the wind correction prompt on the lower right of the screen on the init ref page is for.
Ours defaults to plus 5kts. Asked around and no one seems to really know and it is not in our manuals.

Thanks DA

if you are talking about the prompt on the init ref page when you are in flight (ie the flap selection page for landing) then it sets the speed to fly above ref on approach(the speed displayed on the legs page on final)..default is 5 but can be changed for wind or VNAV approaches.

5 kts is the normal target speed above REF in calm winds. When you pull up the legs page during landing it will have your target speed listed. So if you need to add headwind and gust factors put it there and it will show up in the legs page during landing. If you leave the box hooked up in v-nav then the speed bug will set to the proper ref speed when you select flaps 30 or 40. We use a min of 10 kts in that window when we do RNP approaches so that the autopilot has alfa floor protection and does not revert into level change at a low level.
