Ok, so April 15th is fairly far out, but I was wondering about my crashpad and taxes.

My wife and I have a house, but I leased an apartment for a crash pad. I paid for electric while I was there. Can I deduct the cost of the apartment on taxes? I've read the tax code on this kind of topic, but I was wondering about personal experiences.

Also, I ended up driving to my base quite a bit, can I deduct vehicle expenses?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Getting to and from work to home is not historically a deductable expense, however, you should consult a tax authority/expert for an accurate answer.

Yeah, I know I should consult a professional, just seeing if anyone on the board here had any personal experience in the matter
