Mac bases: ATRs'
mem, ind, msn, cwa, cha, ewn, ilm, mia, bqn(puerto rico)
Floater bases: mem, ind, raleigh?

Mac is hiring for floater postions in mem, ind...

FLOATER Bases: mem, ind (planes and crews are based there but MAC will send you where you're needed within the system), you'll travel either fri, sat, sun, mon, stay in a hotel during the entire time, fly the run and travel home at the end of the week..... basically you're covering for the other pilot. Chances are you will not be used alot, you'll spend most of your time in reserve at home or stdby...:D

How do they get you to the floater base? Jump seat, airline you out? Do you have to relocate? How long before you get assigned a permanent base?
Thinking about applying so I'm trying to get a feel for the QOL.

To jump seat for your employer is one of the fastest way to lose jump seat privileges.

MAC doesn't have any jumpseat privilege, you travel by airline. You will relocate at your own expense, no reimbursement. You can bid on a permanent base whenever one becomes available....:pimp:

Huh??? If I'm deadheading, and I'm going to bump passengers, I will sit in the jumpseat to get them on. What's wrong with that?

Perhaps I worded my post poorly. What I really meant was that it is inappropriate to nonrev for your employer and if they need to position you somewhere, they had better buy a ticket.

As for your question, that situation is actually questionable. I have heard that some people interpret that as a violation of etiquette. If you're deadheading, it is for the purpose of your employer and they bought you a ticket. If you move to the cockpit to keep a passenger from being bumped at the request of the gate agent, make sure the Captain knows the whole situation. Don't treat it like you're just nonreving. Personally, I don't see a problem with it as long as the airline doesn't give you a refund for the ticket that your employer bought and that the Captain knows the whole situation.
