Message from Nation to Pilots and F/As: Just show up to work and fly the jet.....

The 9/11 crews hardly referenced in todays events...

Since 9/11 the accident rate has been no worse than any other period of time... yet despite extra security procedures and pay, work rules and pension gutting, we continue to do our jobs without recognition...

Just Show up and fly the jet....

The 9/11 crews hardly referenced in todays events...

They were never really referenced at all...even in the past. More power to the police and firefighters who lost their lives that day; but, the pilots and flight attendents went down in history as the FIRST to lose their lives on 9/11. However, they were never recognized as such.

After such a tragic event children idolize police and firefighters; but, still hold us on the same plain as the driver of their big yellow school bus.

Sorry, it's always bothered me that pilots and F/A didn't gain any respect through the 9/11 events. This post gives me a chance to vent.

RIP to all lives lost seven years ago and my prayers are with their families.

Simply put never forget, you never know when you will have the cold harsh facts stare you harshly in the eye.
These colleagues did not expect it this day either.

We will never forget as pilots and FA's no matter if there is a mention or not of these lost lives. Their memory lives on inside of us all in the aviation community. We carry their banner every time we fly...god bless and we will always remember,no matter what.
