Sch. assigns all the open time for the rest of Sept. to reserves. I thought they could not assign anything outside of 48 hours??

So basically the reserves got a relief line... I tried to pick up trips and were told no many times, which I lost money on. Now they are giving trips away so line holders can not trade, or captains are picking up right seat trips...like Capt. Dave B.

Cpt. Dave B. was going to pick up a trip in HPN, gave up his seat (DH) in the aircraft to get other person on, and the capt. denied him the J/S to go fly as FO..they left him behind!!! I love it...

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but, aren't you trying to pick up open time too.

Per the Contract on page 20-11

the company will allow pilots to pick up open time up to 48 hrs prior to the assignment and then cover any open flying with reserve pilots. The company can also assign reserve pilots prior to 48 hrs. of a duty assignment if it deems necessary due pilot coverage

it was a fight that was given away long ago

So let me get this straight, this thoughtful CA was JS himself to not only pick up open time with guys on the street, but right seat open time at that? I can't say that I feel sorry for his behind being left.

Every CA or FO that loads up on open time while there's furloughs should be pin pointed. It's a double whammy when it is a CA picking up right seat time though. I wonder what his background is......

there are lots of words to describe people like that and a special place for them. none of which can be talked about here. I know that the union can't tell you not to, but the union can remind them that there are brothers and sisters on the street and to KEEP THEM IN MIND WHEN FLYING OR CONSIDERING TRIPS. There's a reason that greed and gluttony are part of the seven deadly sins.

That is pretty hypocritical of you to bash someone for something you are trying to do. Way to go. Glad to see people looking out for us furloughed guys. I can't wait to see you guys give up the farm to keep your jobs when the company comes calling on Wednesday.

Hey I am on the street too --I tried to pick up trips within the 24 hours of checkin, and was told no in June,July, and Aug.

For lineholders now=THEY CAN NOT TRADE ANYTHING !!

So with reserves having trips=would be funny if alot of people called in sick. Where would the reserves be???

F U, have some faith in this becoming very unified pilot group. There are alot of people doing the right thing, and I think the people doing the right thing far outweigh the people that are not.

With approximately 80+ reserve lines for each position, that means there at least 50 guys/gals on reserve for each position every day. Even as they assigned all open time, they still have a ton of reserves available everyday.

The company is probaby wishing they had built a greater number of hard lines (to a lower value) and less reserve lines. It would have meant less overall soft pay as they are going to pay alot of us reserve guys 70 hours for about 30 hours of actual earned credit. My over/under bet for reserve days actually getting called in this month is still 7 (so far I have been used 2 of 5 reserve days).
