PCL=you of all people should know that ALPA SUCKS too !!!

Airtran is going to Furlough so stop with all the oh they are not going to rumors. They have over 200+ FAs that are on leave for sept, not sure how many for 6 months. I say you get a contract of employment at your next job or get some type of education status if you want to stay gone for 2 years...

I talked with my mortgage broker recently and the program we bought our house with is still available...we put down about 3%. So, no, that isn't exactly true.

Just a small number of people will qualify for the 3% down, have no fear as long as states like Florida and California continue to take it on the chin in their housing markets, recovery is not visible on the horizon anytime soon. Does not matter for the rest of the economy if states like wyoming and kansas are not having any problems with their housing markets.

It is not the furlough that has me so upset. It is all the other stuff.

-Management Attempting to violate the contract to fire probationary employees

-Managements Attempt to fire employee that put up petition for MEMRAT and the unions very weak position on getting the current hostages back on property

-WEAK LOAs that do not give me much confidence in any future TAs

-A union in total self destruct including infighting and possible moles being escorted off property by police.

-A management with total contempt for its employee group

-An employee group that seems to have Stockholm syndrome.

didn't you know all this from your rsch of Airtran before going there? Airtran's no SW or DL in terms of job quality right? Plus you knew about their 20% growth- twice as much as any other airline. The music had to stop sometime.

Sorry- g'luck to all.

No, I don't know that. ALPA is the best union available for air line pilots. It's not perfect, but it's the best thing we've got, and it will provide the most protection. The union we currently have is a joke, and it's not even the fault of the leadership. It's simply a matter of not having the necessary resources.

I guess I did not realize it was this bad. The lure of no longer commuting was such a huge benefit I kind of looked past some of the other stuff. You never really understand a company till you work there. I sure got Bit#% Slapped. But in my defense Southwest was no Bell of the Ball either 10 years ago. I thought it was a worth while risk on a company that had a lot going for it. Too bad a strong union, motivated employee group, and managment with any kind of respect for their employees are not part of it.

Having been ALPA, I can say that it does have issues. It is a fact that ALPA has dropped the ball several times in the past, but it is by far the best option we have. The NPA lacks the resources that we desperately need. I don't want to come off as bashing the NPA, but we are not equipped to deal with this management team. If we gave the company a vote, I would guarantee you they would rather us stay NPA. Why do you think that is?

Not at all. Still tons of low down payment loans available.

Andy is on crack.

I should have stated it differently.

Most banks are requiring 20% down.

I happen to work for a bank and unless you are a doctor or a lawyer you better have plenty of cash to put as a down payment on your home.

The credit markets are tightening quite a bit and they will only loan money to good risks with plenty of capital on hand to protect themselves.

Is this a big deal? I don't think so. They should have been actually underwriting these mortgages to begin with.

Fight for what? a 50% pay cut. That seems to be their average deal.:uzi:

First off where the heck did you get a 50% pay cut?? I love how these people like to bash Alpa by just saying something so ridiculous like what you just did. Also for all the other people that mention airlines like Mesa, TransState, or TWA. Get your facts straight, your pilot group is suppose to fight for your contracts not Alpa national. They merely provide the means, such as lawyers (good ones), to fight some of the tuffest management out there. They love to use examples like, "Yeah did a hell of alot of good for me at TWA." FACT: YOUR MEC AT TWA TOLD YOU TO SIGN OFF ON YOUR CONTRACT. He is one of your line pilots in his infinite wisdom, not alpa national that made that decision and your pilot group followed it. No one has Alpa's resources you guys can kick and scream about it all you want. NO ONE!!!!

PS: Everytime you blaze through TSA checkpoints using crewpass, remember Alpa fought for that!!!

If you want a union with enough backbone to stand up to management get the IBT.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ask RAH pilots how they like the IBT

Apparently, they would not defend 2 pilots who WERE NOT drinking within 12 hours and believed what the "hotel staff" said about the crew.

This is currently going on at RAH. Big stink with GS

Airtorch is screwed

You are probably just someone who couldn't pass the interview and now you are bitter and dejected.

Let's see...was it the HR portion of the interview, or the SIM portion? My guess is...it was both.

No, he's a nice guy that works for CAL. He just enjoys getting a rise out us gullible ValuJet pilots.

My brief experience with the Teamsters was dominated by our shop steward (former Pepsi Truck driver) having numerous closed-door meetings with our VP of Flight Ops (gray squirrel), specifically excluding our Local President (line pilot). My impression of the Teamsters - not positive.

Where'd ya hear that? From one of your "wide-stance" toe-tappin' buddies in the next stall? :erm:

Don't believe everything you hear in a MSP men's room.

Hey Ty why does everyone of your post include some kind of gayness? You getting ready to come out of the closet?

Alright! So now its being called a RIF aka Reduction in Furlough. Letters to be announced around the middle of August. Well I guess it might be a vacation after all. Focus on the thread at hand.

None of these furloughing airlines will give firm numbers or dates.....to keep you from starting another job and using sick time while they need you over the summer season.

Now that's funny! I'd bet a year's salary that if a vote was held tomorrow at RAH, ALPA would win by over 80%.

Yeah see what the open time looks like and who picks up the trips?

Why would people leave sick time behind?
