The good folks on the CJC ALPA Organizing Committee will be in EWR on the 29th and 30th of July. The events for both days are the same, so you only need to attend one day. Both days will be held at the airport Marriott, the mornings will be for pilots interested in being on the Organizing Committee, and the afternoons will be for meet and greet, and Q & A.

There are a lot of different rumors going around about who would be best to represent us at the table, why not spend half a day to find out for yourself?

Nice avatar there, no wonder we have so few female members......

You're correct! I should take responsibility for the disparaging lack of female membership on this board...I am sure it has no correlation what-so-ever to the same sex gap seen on every flight deck of every day...

BTW (its a picture of a mouse, the same one you use to surf this website, next time wear your glasses)

Why would anyone want women as members here? They smell good and feel nice but they have no business in a cockpit. Unless they are there for inflight entertainment. For every female sitting in a pilot seat there is an empty stripper pole somewhere.

Colgan Teamsters Union

Colgan needs a union, but ALPA isn't for us. Pinnacle has ALPA. What have they done for them? Same MGMT... What airlines don't like or want to get rid of ALPA? US Airways did!!!

www.local747.org send in your authorization cards now.

Also how does it feel that your ALPA dues bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of Potbelly sandwiches, TGI Friday's food, Legal Seafood in BOS, and whatever you want to eat in LGA in order to buy your support. Heck it could be more in the six figures it went on for months!! Why did they buy all of this, kindness or an investment?

Why does your 2% dues come off of your gross? So the more I work the more money ALPA needs!! They must be strapped for cash, how much do their employees make? Alot more then most of us. Teamster dues are 1.5 % off of your monthly guarantee.

Think about it !!!!!! Vote Teamsters

Why do you think Teamsters would do any better than ALPA when dealing with the morons on Nonconnah? Whichever union you choose, they will still refuse to negotiate in good faith. It's not ALPA that they don't like, it is their employees in general.

1.5%... as we all know cheaper is better right?

LOL! Do you Colgan folks think that Teamsters can do a better job by dealing with the idiots at NonConnah? PT the Clown, and his entire circus, will not negotiate in good faith.

You have no idea what you are talking about just like you had no idea what you where talking about last year...

Among other things, you said there was going to be a decrease in supply of pilots and an increase in demand. How many pilots today are furloughed?

wow your a reseacher, I would rather pay less for the same or the possiblity of more. None of my questions were answered. You attacked price only. I guess the extra .5% of you monthly guarantee + 2% of you hard earned over guarantee pays for advertising and food. If the company isn't going to negotiate in good faith then why have a union at all?

If you do your job properly which 99.9999% of the guys and gals at Colgan do, a union is insurance. ALPA has far better resources to handle those 'insurance' issues that come up.

Would you rather pay for the cheap type of insurance that might cover that expensive surgery you might need, or the all inclusive coverage. Think about it that way.

And I am pretty sure it comes off your gross for the IBT as well.

The smartest thng the Colgan pilots could do is threaten to join the union (any union) and not actually follow through. They are in a position to get whatever they want because Mgt would do almost anything to keep them non-union and by staying that way, they also negate any leverage that ALPA tries to use through the PNCL pilots.

Better to ask yourself, what have the teamsters done for Great Lakes or GoJets.

Airways left ALPA in an attempt to preserve their seniority.

Unfortunately, pilots have to be bribed in order to get them to show up and get educated on issues that will continuously impact their career. If pilots weren't so self centered and egotistical they would voluntarily show up for no personal benefit.

How hard do you think the teamsters are going to fight for you (read: how much money will they spend for lawyers) in merger situation when they won't be the surviving representative?

Yeah....Just look at everything Management gave them last time they threatened to Unionize.

Huh???

You Colganites keep up this anti-union crap, and ya'll will get stapled when the time comes.

And it will be the red stapler from Office Space that will get the job done.

A staple, no fences, no furlough protection.

Let me make this ABSOLUTELY clear: VOTE IN A UNION THIS YEAR! Do NOT believe anything the Colgan Pilot Group (managment kiss-asses) have to say. The reality is they have ZERO leverage- a pipe dream.

Btw, when exactly is Dot leaving?
