I would imagine the same since shortly after his arrival they announce the furlough of 950 pilots. Same as it ever was.

Joko

We call him BALLSACK

Here is the latest in a LONG list of threads about this idiot!

Pilots of Council 34,

Recently, our SFO Chief Pilot sent a unimatic e-note to all pilots referring to our new senior vice president of flight operations as “Captain Kolshak”. Let us be perfectly clear that Mister Kolshak is not, has never been, and likely never will be, a captain at United Airlines. In fact, he is currently listed on United’s rolls as a “second officer”. A resolution is currently before us at the MEC meeting to prohibit Mister Kolshak from ever receiving a seniority number at United Airlines.

Fraternally,
Mike Holman

Not sure how that guy ever made the fast track. He flew very little on the line at Delta - worked his way into a suit job early on and "worked" his way up. He was a great guy-pal with former Delta CEO Leo Mullin and COO Fred Reid and they booted a pilot friendly Flt Ops VP and put JoKo in there instead. What a b.s. time that was.

Only time I ever heard him speak in the pilot lounge I had to excuse myself to go hurl. He was defending Delta's Force Majure II (later ruled against DAL in court) days after Delta kicked in around $40 million for protected pensions for top tier corporate bubbas. "You guys are just going to have to get over it - that's the way it is." Was pretty much an exact quote. Then I left.

Joe talks a good game, but he is no smarter than any of us with his undergrad in accounting, no advanced degree and reallly very little experience on the line.

Good for you guys for keeping him out of the cockpit. He got himself checked out on the 777 at DAL and would "personally" launch new service to new cities. Former Marines must cringe at Joe's "I eat first" style as he was - AMAZINGLY - a Marine himself. Pretty sad.

Can't believe Midwest Express hired him. Can't believe UAL hired him. What's his track record? Billion dollar losses, BK, and rock bottom morale. Great leadership candidate.

Good luck. Don't let him fly. Don't trust him either.

So far, haven't heard much from him yet. I think anyone at UA who pays attention is aware of his reputation. He had his first little test a couple of days back but the line pilots didn't hear anything from management higher than the System Chief Pilot. We shall see I guess.......

Frankly, he shouldn't even be honored with the title Second Officer. That denigrates all of us that earned that title from UA.

In these tumultous times here at UA, silence from him equals arrogance and contempt. Ah, home sweet home.

I can honestly say I've never heard one good comment about Joko from a management type or obviously a pilot.
That speaks loads about him.

Good luck!
