While there is no doubt that former NWA pilots will be doing a lot of adjusting to the the new (for us) culture at DAL, seems like RA is bringing a lot of former NWA talent and culture into the new DAL. Of note is he leaving the pilot haters behind.

The way I count the new EMT, six NWA executives, three Delta:

NWA Guy - Anderson: "In 1990, he began a 14-year career at Northwest Airlines ..... " 14 years NWA one year Delta.

Delta Guy - Ed Bastian, President-Delta Air Lines, Inc.; president and CEO-NWA,Inc.

Delta Guy - Mike H. Campbell, EVP-HR, Labor & Communications - Delta

NWA Guy - Michael J. Becker, EVP-Chief Operating Officer-NWA, Inc. Mike has served as senior vice president of Human Resources for Northwest
Airlines, Inc. since August 2001.

NWA Guy - Steve E. Gorman, EVP-Operations
Steve joined Delta as executive vice president-Operations, in December, 2007. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president of Flight Operations and Technical Operations at Northwest Airlines. Anderson hired him when he got to Delta. Several years at NWA, less than one year at Delta.

Delta Guy - Glen W. Hauenstein-EVP-Revenue & Network - Delta.

NWA Guy - Ben Hirst-SVP-General Counsel - NWA

NWA - Laura H. Liu-SVP-International - NWA

NWA - Theresa Wise-SVP-Chief Information Officer

Hmmmm,

Filed for bankruptcy the same day.

Mostly NWA veterans already at the helm at Delta.

not to be negative... but you are wrong here. The law firm he was a founding partner of, Ford & Harrison, has done nothing to help pilots, and a lot to hurt them. Try taking FMLA at your airline.

Ford & Harrison is not so tough, I have beaten one of their lawyers 3 times and sat across the table from another during contract talks. I did not find them to be so bright. You are correct though, they have no love for pilots.

Well I can't speak for the DAL VP's that are staying, but none of the NWA ones came over.

Has the DAL MEC tried to revisit the FMLA policy since RA is at the helm? He honored it for all NWA personnel when there. Between my wife and I having had a few surgeries and deaths in the family, I can't begin to over emphasize how important FMLA can be.

I hope in time we can combine the best policies of both airlines. JMO, but I think there will be negotiating leverage they need relief over implementation issues......

Actually, no, they didn't. I was there. My point was that Mike Campbell's firm was instrumental in opposing flight crews elegibility for the FMLA, not specifically with relation to nwa or dal. He and his firm have fought many times to disadvantage the pilot group. That is a fact. All I'm saying is watch out and he isn't pilot friendly.

I don't think there are too many NWA pilots that consider any management type is pilot friendly.

Don't ever forget RA's Lorenzo background for that matter. Right now it's simply advantageous for him to be the benevolent CEO and he has to deal with ALPA.

Let's see how combination of our AFA F/A's and other unionized to non-unionized groups fare.....

And, before Delta they were both at CAL. One is a great guy. The other I have had some personal dealings with over there and I was less than impressed. His name rhymes with shmampbell.

Lets hope that they will not destroy what from the outside(soon to be inside) appears to be a halfway decent work environment. From the outside Dal was as close to the swa culture as you could get for the legacies, minus the Allen, Mullin years.

Good Captains, CPO friendly and helpful with the stuff newbies have to do. The real pleasant surprise has been crew scheduling.

If the NWA guys miss out on Delta's welcome aboard process during indoc it will be a shame. The wifey has pictures of the welcome aboard dinner on the wall in the hallway  .

There is a difference.

Hope you keep it boys...know a lot of great people there (now retired) and a lot great guys who started there 98-01 and last year.

Hope you can preserve the magic and get even better...

I was not talking about pilot to pilot interaction. I think you will find working with the former Nwa capts. very pleasant. I have always said that the pilot group at Nwa was the least pretentious most blue collar of the legacies. That is what I liked most and the reason why I never applied to anyone else(95 hire-no one else hiring)after the others started hiring even though I live in the master base of the largest airline. I was specifically talking about some mid to low level vp types that have been a constant thorn in our side. Glad to see them pursuing other employment if you know what I mean.
