See....that's the problem: there's no brotherhood, it's the "Screw you I got mine" mentality. and until there is a National seniority list(never happen) this will not change in our industry.

SWA's does have some pilots with attitudes, but who doesn't? Most of those guys have given me a lift and treated me like family when on board their airline. And it is only good business to expand when you have cash and others suffer. That expansion will save many furloughed pilots from the street.

There are always going to be a few guys on the top that enjoy the belief that through some divine wisdom they have made the correct career/airline choice. There are also folks at the bottom who resent those who have sucess. Seven years ago I would have given one of mine to work at UAL. SWA may be a good job today, but far from what I dreamed about when I entered this business. I wanted to be a Pan Am Captain and fly the world. Not go back and forth to Omaha. But I do respect the fact that for now its a stable, good paying job.

With respect to the National seniority list, I do not think the last poster was a communist, he simply wanted the unity to negotiate. As long as there are other companies or pilots willing to do it cheaper, management has the advantage. We at least need the equivalent of OPEC, so we can collectively bargain what a 25 years airline captain/FO should make flying the same equipment. Problem is that it will never happen because someone will have to give something up. It isn't fair but many past scabs are now proud union members somewhere.

As a SWA pilot, I am associated with my fellow pilots. We are the same as any other company where as we are labelled by a few. Most of us go to work and are happy that we work at a good company. You won't see many of us trying to screw the company or screw over a buddy, life is just too short.

As for ugly SWA pilots, and the apology that started this thread, I did not appreciate the title. However, this is an opinion board. I want to improve my QOL, I apologize for those who are harmed as SWA grows. I read the press and am happy for our success, it bothers me knowing people are suffering. Do I feel personally responsible? No. However, I am fortunate that I do not work at a company that has excessive drama.

Perhaps mainline companies will return to the top in pay and once again thumb their noses at companies like SWA who are different. That day will come too.

I'm very disappointed in the content of this entire thread. When I saw the title I was excited and thought that someone had created a "Am I Hot or Not" thread with pictures of SWA pilots. I was looking forward to rating the hotness (or lack of hotness). Instead I get the same old bickering.

Oh well. I can dream.

Since you have 10 yrs 121 I guess you were never in the AF. Unfortunate, since the AF liked to take all the pilots in a room when someone screwed up and shoot them all just to be sure they got the one guilty guy. No, evidence of any rotten posts in my 5 yrs here so I assume you found one bad guy and shot the whole pilot group. Good on ya man! If SAC ever comes back you would be a sure fit for General Lemay
