RiddleEagle.......

There is the right way, and the wrong way, to remedy the situation. Firstly, ALPA is only as strong as the people that serve it, don't blame the Association, blame the people in it/ leadership. Also, I'd be willing to bet you have yet to communicate with any members that serve YOU on the MEC. A message board isn't an official source/communication method to get your point across to them. You need to call, write a letter, or talk with them face to face. They're not there to riducule you- they are there to represent you.....that's what they are getting paid to do. They may not agree with your imput, but they will listen. You are wasting your time here, and frankly, you are not doing much good representing my alma mater.

Straight from the MEC email received today (7/17):
"For example, your MEC has previously met with representatives of management to resolve issues created by the implementation of the long-call-reserve language. We came to an agreement in principle, and we will insist that an agreement be signed before we are willing to move forward on other issues."

Still think your MEC cares about the junior guys about to get furloughed? I would consider that more important, but hey, what do I know, right? I'm just a regional FO...

The problem was with Martin R. of the scheduling committee, he would come out of meetings with mang. to not violate something again but they would a couple of months later, and since there was no MOU they would violate something for months again. (Those of you that defend JC should be asheamed he got us in this situation by being in Mangs. pocket.) Since Martin was not there to do the rundowns, they came out a lot better, and it shows no pilots have been complaining. He also will not be able pick trips off of reserves schedules anymore, he'll have to fly the line just like his butt buddy JC. which by the way JC has the most sick calls out of the pilot group now.

Cool dude you went to Embry-Riddle and you must have been on the flight team. I will conclude that you know everything about flying and airlines! I remember my first job after I left ER I didn't know a damn thing. Hey I have a quick flash for you bro--you give alumni everywhere a bad name.

Suggestions for improvement:

repeat to yourself "I do not know everything" several times

Attend multiple union meetings

Talk to some of the experienced captains you fly with, if you haven't pissed them all off by now.

Consider picking a user ID that doesn't advertise your ego/stupidity and embarrass your alumni.

They are failing our junior pilots at the time they need them the most. They need to get off their high horse and work with the company now on the issue that is most pressing. I would love to make the decisions but not all of us can be involved for reasons outside our control. Thats why we pay dues so we can have a few full time guys deal with this crap.

Hopefully one day you'll realize that "they" is "you."

Obviously you haven't read the letter. In the letter Dan points out that he sent over a hundred emails to the CMR MEC warning them of the potential problems that would come up with a Delta merger.....They were ignored and in fact an errant email advocated a policy of non-communication.

Dan first offered a solution at the 1995 ALPA scope committee.....He has offered solutions.....Where were you in 1995?

Prediction: Danny Ford will now sue ALPA over the actions of the CMR MEC.

Danny and his Apple Dumpling gang of followers will once again throw in the towel after the discovery phase shows once again that it is nothing more than a frivolous lawsuit, just like it they did with the RJDC fiasco, but by then, Danny will have conned a new breed of CMR pilots into "donating: for the cause.

God I hope not, Dan is a big mark on a pilot group that already has enough marks. They Gen X is all about me, Dan is old his gen seems to be more about themselves then GEN X. Retire Dan you will not fly the 777 for Delta, because you decided to try and make a seniority grab and failed have fun flying an RJ till retirement, Fatty.

With all due respect, maybe, you should be spending your time communicating with those in charge. Request a special LEC meeting from your reps. One thing is for sure, you will not get a remedy or resolution on this forum.
I've personally been calling reps since July 3rd when rumor broke about the furloughs, not a single returned call. I finally flow with a ALPA Rep and he said it was because they're flying.

As far as the Union lying to the members, something isn't right when there are a lot of pilots agreeing that this Merger Assesment Fee smells a little fishy.
Why would National tell Comair only to get this assesment going and not the other ALPA represent carriers that are possibly involved in this imaginary merger. Even the Union reps say there is no merger happening, but it's INCASE we merge.

I might lose weight one day too, but Im not going out and buy a whole new wardrobe just INCASE.

The Union has sent out one brash email stating that pilots are facing termination if they dont pay this fee. Then they send out an apology email. Then they send out another email trying to tip toe around it and then again telling us IT'S NOT AN OPTION and again, facing termination. Using scare tactics like management? One would think management would like you not paying this bill, as it's a "Union Busting" tactic.

I've been here a couple of years and agree that the Union doesn't communicate very well.
You say "get involved" but a lot of guys who have been here for 3-4 years or less are working second jobs, and going to the WalMart to pick up baby formula provided with WIC vouchers.
I'm definetly not pro management, and not anti Union. Just agreeing that the Union in my last two years here hasn't left the greatest impression.

That was definitely one faux-pas they could have done without. I mean, it's not like I wouldn't have just given them the twenty bucks, had they just asked for it nicely.

It's a sign of being desperate.

You ask me nicely, I'll give you $20. Might have to show me your boobs first, but you'll get your $20
