Yes, as far as I know. Jet classes will be resuming at the end of the month and Brasilia classes never stopped. I think I've come to believe that as long as jet classes are running, the Brasilia will always be understaffed, at least on the FO side. It's great for my job security and my paycheck, but I sure wish I could drop a trip here and there on Sked+, which has been nearly impossible for most of my time here at SKW (about a year).

Let me know if you have any other questions. I don't work in the training department, so I'm just going off the "common knowledge" within the company, but hopefully I can help out somehow.

talked with a guy doing interviews. No interviews at all in July even for the BRO. All the interviewers had their schedules changed reflecting the no interviews. Training dept will be shut down again with maybe some bro classes in the distant future. No RJ classes anytime soon and over 100 in the pool. Man I hate being Jr. here but it could be much much worse.

Are you talking RJ classes for new hires? Because I moved up 6 numbers in domicile seniority in the Bro for July, and that's definitely not due to attrition.

June and July Rj class still on. Aug cancelled due to limited hotel rooms available and nothing else. Resuming RJ classes in Sept.

Great news if it's true. Although, it's not exactly like it was a quick phase out as it was. We had Uncle Dennis in the jump a few weeks ago--he said something about [X] (a substantial number) Bros being around in 2012. It wouldn't surprise me to see fuel prices slow the exit of the Bro even more.... Which is great news, because my upgrade bid will be in as soon as I hit the mins.

How is it that interviews and classes are ongoing, when my buddy in the current Brazildo class called me from Fresno this morning to say that his class got furloughed today, right before sim? What the hell is going on over there? Anyone have a clue when he and his class might get called back?

Or Chapter 11, or Midwest could negotiate with Skywest to break the deal (a la RAH-F9) before declaring ch. 11. Timmy already said in his letter to MidEx ALPA that they would be renegotiating with all their suppliers (SKYW, etc)

Well, I believe SkyWest would be a big part of their Chapter 11 restructuring, if that is the route they go. So, I guess we will have to wait to see.

First of all, the Bro is better than any airplane that you've ever flown.

Second, I find it very difficult to believe that the entire class got "furloughed." We are a whoppin' 3 deep for reserves in SLC on the FO side for July, and while I don't know the exact numbers for FAT, it can't be that much different. There's got to be some other kind of explanation, like your buddy just sucks at flying and is spreading mis-information, or the the NASCAR guys need the sim, or there wasn't hotel space, or that the diner by the hotel (I forget the name) ran out of steak. Those are all plausible scenarios.

Not sure what's going on with Midwest. We're still hiring this month. Just received an FO Update from BV that said Midwest is very happy with us and our procedures.

How much that holds if they go belly up is schiet!

dude they are parking all the 80s and will now park 5 of the 25 717s. Asking for 50% paycut from the pilots....anyway you look at it we are losing that flying and probably in a hurry...wonder what the game plan is for the 20 odd rjs in midwest colors.

I hope SkyWest management is as smart as everyone says they are. I would say Midwest is on the way out and UAL isn't exactly doing stellar. No matter how good of a service you provide, it does no good if two of your partners go out of business. UAL and Midwest represents approximately 70% of SkyWest Airlines business. SkyWest Inc. may continue to do alright, but their subsidiary SkyWest Airlines may not need so many pilots, FA's and airplanes.

True about Midwest.

But as much as UAL sucks in almost every way imaginable they are in a better financial position than a number of other airlines.

The current situation is just a race to see who bleeds out first...based on the financial summaries I have seen USAir and AA are close to the bottom financially, while UAL is further up the list. Mesa is at the very bottom of the list of course.

If things continue as they are Airways and AA should go BK first, followed by liquidation due to lack of available financing. The loss of two legacies, especially AA, should spur congress to do SOMETHING...
